Me and my girlfriend are current residents of Osborn Apartments. We moved in August of 2016 and have been very pleased with our experience. We have had minor maintenance issues that have been fixed immediately when we contact our grounds keeper. The apartment is a great size for the price, as well as a built in parking lot behind the residence which was a huge plus considering how the streets are in Manayunk. We were aloud a cat with a deposit and small monthly fee of $25. The area could not get any better, with such a short distance to main street an uber ride is very cheap, not to mention center city is 10 minutes away and KOP is 20 minutes. The building is a little older, so the look of the apartment is a little dated but the grounds are kept up very well and the size of the apartments are a lot bigger than what it looks on the outside. The basement has two built in washers for $1.25 each and two dryers for $1.00 each, which is a lot cheaper than surrounding laundry mats, however their is no change machine which can be annoying sometimes. The building has a front and back door that both lock, the area is super safe, however we feel that a light could be installed in the back parking lot. We are overall very satisfied with our experience and recommend this to other people.
Place is absolutely horrible. I had a leak in my ceiling, and not a small one either, from the upstairs bathroom. Water was pouring into my bathroom so I called emergency maintenance right away to get it fixed. They came out the following day and I assumed the issue was taken care of. However, a few days later, water began pouring from my ceiling again. I left emergency maintenance a voicemail but I did not hear from anyone that day or the following. I called the office and left a voicemail, and maintenance finally called me back two days later saying they would fix it. It was not fixed when I got home from work and I couldn't get answers from anyone in the office as to what was being done. Maintenance finally got around to fixing it almost a week after water began flooding into my bathroom. By the time they fixed the leak, mold had already began to grow and there were actual MUSHROOMS growing from my ceiling. Maintenance told me it was fixed but they didn't even bother removing the mushrooms and mold or clean my bathroom that was absolutely disgusting from the incident. I did not use the bathroom or even stay in my apartment that entire week due to the conditions. Luckily I was about to move out so did not have to live in those conditions for long. I'm willing to bet they never replaced the ceiling after all that water damage, or RIP up the bathroom flooring from all of the water that soaked into the floor. On top of that, the place is just gross. Smells bad, neighborhood kids deface the building, back door is constantly broken, they don't replace the back entrance light bulbs which makes going up and down the stairs at night a little dangerous, washers and dryers don't work well, and the snow removal is a joke. Pretty sure I shoveled the front walk more often than the property management company did. And the office staff is unresponsive and unfriendly. For your own sake, live anywhere else but here.
Moved into the building this past November. Spacious room for the price I pay each month. I love the area and love the easy drive/public transportation into center city to see friends. Rent is very affordable for early professionals, families, etc. The price I pay for a 1 bedroom is comparable to many studio apartments in the area and the extra room is great. Would recommend this apartment building to anybody looking to move to the area!
