From my experience, the main reason for this hospital is to transfer you somewhere else... And they aren't even good at that. It's always the same excuse--no one has a bed anywhere else, but we'll do our best to look. We sat in the ER room for almost six hours--no joke--and the only person who came in was maintenance. We had to go sit on the doorway to get attention... Even then we had to speak up for them to talk to us. We asked, "How is it going?" Doc said, "Good question." Nurse asked if we wanted the light off--six hours ago. I replied, "I might fall asleep. If I need to drive my wife to Spokane, I don't want to be drowsy." She replied, "Shouldn't you get some sleep, then?" What did she want me to do? Drape my body over the round stool? And they won't turn the malfunctioning alarm off! If they're supposedly monitoring my wife every thirty minutes, doesn't it show her vitals aren't being read? I agree--unless you're on death's door, drive to Richland or Spokane. What a joke. If it's called"Othello Community Hospital," this community should be embarrassed.
Very disappointed! I get it covid it out and they want to be safe but are you kidding me I had a family member rush in their and slow for everything and on top of that they wouldn’t let anyone in with them not a parent or a significant other! You aren’t helping anyone you are giving people no hope. I couldn’t even imagine laying there fighting and not being able to see anyone. Laying alone and sad? Is that how they comfort people. We have been to 2 other hospitals that have let other people in to comfort like they should. Do not recommend this place at all if you can make it to any other hospital go somewhere else.
I have never in my life experienced an emergency room like the one in Othello community Hospital, nor have I seen so many of my peers have the same terrifying experience. My friend was left on the floor of the emergency room, on his hands and knees, in pain, waiting for the Dr. to see him, with the staff going about their business, as usual. What!!! Are you kidding me??? But, hey, at least their budgets out of the red. I think the staff needs take a hard look at themselves, and definitely spend sometime getting to know the community. Not every body is a gangster, on dope, or trying to get pain pills. Even if they where, each person that goes through those doors, each person should be treated with respect and given proper medical attention. Your doing bad to people who need your help, and then you bill them as if you rolled out the red carpet.
We've been here waiting to get discharged, all I can say is if you can make it to tri city or Spokane before you die, bypass this place. The ER is like a civil war triage unit. The rooms are dirty, staff doesn't care. They're only here for a paycheck. This place is dismal.
Incredibly rude staff! Only come here if you want to be treated like a drug seeker no matter what your problem is or what you are asking. They Judge first and ask questions second and you will be treated lower than the scum of the Earth. Truly awful people and a truly awful Hospital! I hate to say this but I would almost suggest that you lie if you are a chronic pain patient just refuse narcotics or else they will not give you the care you deserve. And that is a horribly sad statement to have to make. I am not a doctor and I am in no way giving anyone medical advice I am just speaking from my own experience. They have a really sour disposition on chronic pain patients and they consider everyone that walks through the door a drug seeker until they look at your history of medications and your frequency to hospitals and things like that. It was a nightmare.
This hospital is a disaster! Some of them have the worst attitude instead of making you feel comfortable and act very disrespectful and have a really bad mood . This is the closest hospital around yet I would much rather be seen anywhere else but here!
Rude staff...when you walk in to the ER with a one year old with facial Burns and the first thing you hear is "we don't even know if we can see him" "we don't have rooms"...really?? Definitely need some better employees
Worst doctor ever the nurse was super helpful and nice the doctor looked like everything bother him I took my 3 year old I would never take no one from my family there doctors name is Holm alfred j ..
Does not even deserve one star! ER staff are the worst you dont get the help you need in this place any other hospital is worth the drive!!
Nurses were awesome. Only saw the Dr for 2mins. Hope the nurses get paid more than that Dr. But was a good visit.
