my daughter went to school here, This gave her a chance to get into a Fantastic High School. Now she has Full ride at a excellent University. OLOG gave her a good foundation towards higher education. I'm grateful for OLOG for the opportunities and choices she now has. Best Regards Jimmy Wong
Beautiful church! We had a baptism there. They were very nice especially the usher Vincent . I definitely recommend this church.
Got married at this beautiful church In August of 1970. Wonderful memories of Fr. Lehman who sadly passed a short time later.
Love this church I felt so comfortable and welcome . Thank you
I've enjoyed coming to this Church throughout the years and I was hoping to have my father's memorial mass here. Unfortunately, the rate was too high and they wouldn’t work with our budget. However, I’m not upset about that. What upset me was the receptionist at the rectory who was extremely rude to me over the phone! I figured the right thing to do was to let them know of my family’s budget concern/final decision to no longer hold the mass there rather than just move on and withdraw from any communication. Yet, when I shared that, she immediately scoffed and told me to go somewhere else with no compassion whatsoever. To be treated with such disdain was uncalled for. Truly disappointing and hurtful to say the least.
Great church and great people. Only thing I'm not crazy about is that the acoustics are bad since it's big and all brick inside. For that reason, I think nobody seems to participate in the mass, especially the psalms. Additionally the psalms are sung WAY TOO FAST which makes it even harder to hear or sing along. The "Gloria" in my parish takes probably 4-5 minutes to sing. It's long. In this church it's not even a minute and a half.
father Russell was extremely helpful preparing for my wedding 3/9 although when the day arrived, sister ann was the only person present for the occasion no singers, no readers, no alter server, no doormen. lucky one man on a piano and my outside priest. there wasn’t ONE person that worked for this church that can help with my special day. thank you for literally nothing!! DO NOT GET MARRIED HERE!
My mother requested that her funeral mass be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe church. I have never experienced such a disrespectful display of character by a nun Sister Ann on October 26, 2018 at the 9:30 mass. As well as a member of the Clergy Father Dominic that was sent to the funeral home to say prayers on October 25, 2018. The Sister's lack of compassion for the deceased or lack of respect was disgraceful. As the daughter of the deceased, who tried to plan a heartwarming goodbye, I was amazed on how ridiculous this sister was. Instead of addressing my family and I at the back of the church privately, she made a spectacle. The most appalling was the laying of the cloth on the casket. This was performed in the middle of the church in front of all the mourners with a disresptful tone. The member of the Clergy, Father Dominic, that was sent to the Funeral home arrived in filthy sweat pants, crocs with an unkempt homeless look. His lack of professionalism as a representative of the Catholic faith was disgraceful. My family have been members of Our Lady of Guadalupe church for years. This display of disrespect was uncalled for and disgusting during a difficult time.
I attended a funeral in February at Our Lady of Guadalupe and was not surprised to witness the disrespectfulness of Sister Ann. In October, I wrote the Arch Dioceses of Brooklyn about Sister Ann's disrespectful attitude I received at my mother’s funeral and was disappointed to see that nothing had been done and another family had to experience this sister’s total disregard of what it means to serve God. I guess this is the imagine they want representing the Catholic Church. Sister Ann’s and Monsignor Romano's attitude towards the parishioners of Our Lady of Guadalupe is appalling. Its obvious that our complaints are not taking seriously and this disrespectful attitude towards the decease and their families is acceptable. Their behavior is an ongoing problem, even the funeral homes are directing the families to have their funeral mass else where. I guess there is a new version of the Catholic religion that these two individuals pracitice. Treat others with disrepect and disdaine and no remorse. Nice religious ethics!!!!
I been going here my whole life life and grew up across the street from the church and next to the convent and the priests and sisters are very nice and they always keep the church clean and I went to religion there every Sunday until the school closed down.
