I had to return a bad tripod I bought online (Amazon basics) and I wasn't really sure what I was looking for, other than I needed a strong, ball head tripod. Two different people on the staff (especially one named Chris) helped me out for two days and I now have an amazing tripod for only $30 more than what I paid online. Looking online can be awesome in terms of deals, but I searched for tripods for a month and didn't find the information I needed because I honestly didn't know what I was looking for. For instance, the tripod I bought is modular; I bought a cheaper Slik tripod with a lever head, but in the future I can buy a ball head attachment and make it either a ball or lever head. If I was buying online, I would have settled for a more expensive ball head instead of a cheaper, modular lever head because I didn't know there were tripods that were modular. And I never would have found out if Chris hadn't told me on the phone! And they gave me a free calendar which was cool. Thanks guys! who says retail is dead?

A great location for camera gear in the KC area. The staff is knowledgeable if not very talkative. I have been there several times and have yet to get a consistent interaction. Despite that I still prefer being able to handle gear before buying it and I think supporting a local store is important.

I try to buy things from this store as often as possible because it's one of the few camera stores left in operation. Honestly the prices are a little high on just about everything, but they do have a large selection and if you need something fast it's helpful to have them around. Supporting local businesses can be more expensive, but it is nice to know your dollars help your community.

Took my old Polaroid in and the guys here gave me some great info and tips. Super cool and they know their stuff!!!

I've been going to this store for almost 20 years. They have a huge inventory and are knowledgable about most things related to photography and video. The staff is friendly, professional, attentive, and helpful but don't hound or follow you as you explore. Their prices are comparable to what one can find online and I often shop there because the prices are so competitive. Kansas City is lucky to have a store of this caliber.
