Thirsty and in need of an afternoon delight? This place will give you what you need to continue your touristy adventures! Great food, lots to choose from and the service was excellent! The atmosphere sure helps you feel like you’re somewhere special! After all, it’s been there a while!! Next to Washington Square, Independence Hall and Liberty Bell.
First time here. Service was slow In the beginning; however, it was due to a staff shortage which is ubiquitous in the industry at the moment. Overall the service was really good. Food tasted really good. The espresso martini was a great treat to end the dinner. Had the cheesesteak egg roll and the Saturday’s special of the crab cakes. Would recommend the egg rolls and will come back to taste the burgers.
Decent food, wonderful atmosphere, excellent service. Ideal location for visiting historic Philadelphia. It was a bit crowded at lunchtime, and the manager Heather made sure we had water and took our drink orders immediately. This is the way service should be!
Pros: - a beautiful location! - pleasant service Cons: - mediocre food and drinks - overpriced My spinach and feta omelet from brunch menu was dry, baby spinach sounds fancy, but was just wrapped in there, feta was barely found. On a side, I got two dry toasts. There was no butter on the toast, neither it was given on a side. Not sure what was I supposed to do with it. Only thing that our party got and was very good is French toasts! It seems like a very touristy place, but I would recommend to go elsewhere to have a good food.
Incredibly fresh food, the oysters were perfect, the truffle Parmesan fries were delectable and the bacon on a stick are to die for. Best of all the service, the staff, especially Dan the Man at the bar and Heather the manager showing us through the entire building. Any event big or small simple to extravagant you want to be HERE. Happy Hour is the B E S T, after not being satisfied at a neighboring establishment at the start of HAPPY HOUR will not be named but the food and atmosphere were lacking. Everyone turned us back up at PJ’s!!! Everyone made us feel homey, welcome and like the most important people in the place. Will absolutely be back with a crowd of my best people to celebrate life. Brunch here we come!
The food was really good and the atmosphere was wonderful. Our waiter Paul was rally nice and supper helpfully we became best friend's. and we thank him!!!
Initially we thought this was just another bar type of thing with typical American fare in a tourist trap location, so we didn't have high hopes. Well I'm glad to say we were wrong. Food quality was good, fresh ingredients. The drinks were quality. Service was excellent, they didn't skimp on the number of waitstaff. The food prices are a little high compared to similar establishments with similar portion sizes, but i didn't mind it at all, since the food quality was nice and the service was great.
4.5.. Great ambience and food selection. Wife loved the lobster sandwich which had lots of tasty lobsters.. their famous NY style burger was rich and juicy. 1 had the seafood soup with was OK.. overall a good quiet and stately place to have lunch and dinners..
I really love this place second time to have dinner there. Oysters allways fresh and tasty. The staff is amazing and welcoming, after my exam in prometric I went there to have my dinner. The songs, the atmosphere is beautiful. And they bring me this delicious browni with ice cream as congratulations when they know I passed my test, aren't they amazing! To be caring and part of making someone's day better! Yes they are! Thank you guys
The Curtis building, where this restaurant is located, is absolutely stunning. Do yourself a favor and gaze into the dream garden. Oh right, back to PJ Clarke's review. Very nice place to bring clients or dates. Feels like it should be more expensive than it is. Very good food, the only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the bun on the burger I had was a little dainty. It seemed to melt away somehow. The burger itself was amazing though, so I forgot quickly about the bun. I'll definitely be back to try some other stuff
