PCH / Palolo has a 2 story older wing, a one story new wing shaped like a rectangle, and an administration building that seems to be empty most of the time. The entire facility has an interesting history contained in their archives, including a Kapiolani Community College term paper under my real name done around 2013. I would recommend anyone to put their loved ones here.
Im with a travel agency and i wouldnt dare come back here to work. The people you work with are not friendly they are very rude and racist. I reported to the nurse and told the DON about what was going on but they do not listen to you at all. I wouldnt put my family member in this nursing home at all. They dont use water on these residents they use wipes instead. They dont want to feed residents that have to be fed because they dont want to deal with feeding them they leave their food trays in their rooms. I advice tou sont travel here to work its not worth coming over here to work
Very nice place for adult day care. When my mother-in-law fell down in April, she had to have a hip surgery. She went to Palolo Chinese Home for rehabilitation services for about a month. During that time we would face time with her once a week as we were not able to talk to her because of the COVID-19. After she came home and could walk with a walker, we put her in adult day care from Monday to Friday. She also gets a bath there. My mother-in-law likes it there and she is sociable to the other residents there. Nurses care is good and they are friendly. Once in a while my mother in law gets her nails painted and they do all sorts of activities there. I would highly recommend putting your elderly parents or grandparents there.
DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE AS THEY ALLOW ABUSE AND DO NOTHING BUT LOOK THE OTHER WAY! They do not care about employees or the care of the residents. I work agency and was DC'D because I spoke up about all the abuse and how employees are bullied by other employees!
No guardrail on the sides of beds in this nursing home. Some seniors residents fall from beds no matter beds are high or low , even might pass away .
The temporary residents have sagging beds. Bathroom was not cleaned for three days, and there was a 15 minute wait for the bathroom. Under staffed with 4 nurses for 33 patients.
Very beautiful. Rooms are spacious but parking stalls are small. Nice nurses too.
My daughter and I really enjoyed volunteering here.
Love when they have the big band play!
I am really happy with their home care services. We were originally using Wilson Home Care and they were absolutely horrendous so we needed to find another care provider. I was initially doubtful after my experience with Wilson Home Care. But Palolo was able to fit us in and send us someone that is kind, caring, and helpful. They are really busy but they still managed to squeeze us in so my mom could be taken care of. We were only using them for a temporary transition but since our caretaker is soooo amazing, we have decided to keep her for the long-term.
