Contreras has the best Pan Dulce in Colorado. I have searched around the Denver area my entire life to try and find the best Mexican bread there is and Contreras deserves all the recognition for it's high quality pan dulce. They bake it fresh daily and have all kinds to choose from in the bakery. I hired them for my wedding to deliver a large order and they delivered to my wedding location all the way in Broomfield. It is always such a treat driving down to enjoy their pan dulce and I will remain a lifelong customer. I would highly recommend their pan dulce to anyone looking to enjoy some of the best tasting Mexican bread around.
By far one of the best markets in Denver. Excellent customers, service, quality, food, and great prices. I can’t stop going there, The restaurant side also has tasty food with excellent customer service. I would recommend everybody shop for their meats, and everything they offer, including fresh fruit and produce. They have tasty sweet bread as well freshly made every day. Gabriel always delivers excellent customer service, along with all the ladies. Saludos y gracias
The store is small and has your typical mexican convenience store items plus a bakery and small selection of vegetables. However, I'm glad I discovered the bakery flour tortillas here are amazing! I travel across town once a month and bulk buy several flour tortillas to freeze and reheat for burritos/wraps or our meals. They reheat wonderfully unlike any other flour tortilla I've tried. Several friends agree the flavor is simply delicious. Even my Mexican mother-in-law with legendary cuisine, likes them. One thing though is, sometimes the tortillas have some black soot on them, but its due to the ash of the utensils from cooking the tortillas. It's not mold. However make sure to freeze if you won't use immediately to ensure they stay preserved. I hope they never go out of business so i never run out of delicious flour tortillas.
What a great little hole-in-the-wall. It's the quintessential everything General Store. They have a grocery store they have a bakery I think it's up close in the back there and have a restaurant taco bar.
Great food!! Nice people! I was very happy!Food: 5/5
Authentic tacos... asada, barbacoa, carnitas, buche, al pastor, lengua, crispy tripas. They have Manzanita Sol apple soda too! Roasted jalapenos on the salsa bar. Super friendly people, even though I'm not Latino. No radishes on the salsa bar though.
The tortillas are awesome, except that they grow mold within 24hrs after you buy them. Don't sell old tortillas! First went here about 2 weeks ago to try the tortillas and a burrito. I don't know how the burrito was because I couldn't eat it. I said sin queso multiple times yet they still put cheese on it. I gave it to a homeless person after I realized that. Pay attention to what people say. I try my best to speak Spanish and learned how to say sin queso years ago because I'm allergic. I did have tortillas to take home. They were excellent the first day but grew mold super fast and I threw half of them away. I thought I'd try again because the tortillas are so good. This time they grew mold even faster, in under 24hrs. I hope you enjoyed my donation to your business for all the food I had to give away and throw away.
I went in to purchase empanadas, which ended up being empanadas with a tablespoon of. They were basically bread. I had to wait at the counter until someone came to assist. Never again will I make any purchases here. I went home and told some family members and they told me the same thing happened to them regarding the baked goods.Food: 1/5
Typical Mexican carnicería/panaderia/tortilleria. The difference from all the others is they have the best flour tortillas I have ever tasted in my life! They have a great variety of meats as well!Food: 5/5
I ordered a torta with fries and it was delicious. I few days ago I got some tacos and they were also delicious. The staff are friendly and inviting, and the store is always busy. I will certainly be going back for their delicious and fairly priced food. I visit their bakery weekly and the general store is well-stocked when I am missing an ingredient when I cook at home.
