Park Avenue Rehab is awesome, my mom loves the food, the staff, the aids the nurses, the administration are all wonderful! And, the place is spotless!
This rehabilitation center has had a broken van sitting out in front of its building for at least two months! This van is meant to provide transportation for the residence to go to various activities such as yoga, a trip to the library and going out for lunch- things that make us feel human. Shame on you- you’re earning14,000 a month per person from medicaid and doing nothing to provide community outings to your patients!!!
If I could give this place fewer stars, I would. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy here. One wheelchair for ALL residents, no bed railings although they’ll charge you for it, two nurses for almost 80 patients, a part time doctor that never has time for you - need I go on? This place smells like urine. My family member was here and it was absolutely atrocious conditions. Unkind staff and little to no support. Multiple daily medication errors. Run far away from this place.
My mother was there for almost 2 weeks, it nearly cost her life. Her care was completely fumbled. There is no urgency to or for anything there. She had to be rushed out of the facility for emergency care; arriving to the hospital in septic shock, with a UTI, pneumonia, and with a massive bedsore. She was dying before their eyes but no one on staff had enough sense to see it.- ZERO BELLS WENT OFF. They are understaffed, patients are not cared for in a timely manner. The clinical staff lacked sound clinical judgement. Stay clear of this place.
Staff is caring and tries to accomdate residents needs.
They steal your clothes and anything you bring your family in there . Lotions , shampoo slippers, etc, nothing is delivered to the residents when items are dropped off for their family. If you think this is a nice place , they pulled the wool over your eyes. The girls who work there are there for a pay check . Period !! That is why you have all Ugandan and Haitian help. The families are fooled when they are visiting . When they go home , it all goes back to neglect and ignored call bells . Call me out on this and I will prove you wrong .
Terrible place - aides &nurses refused to help with orthopedic sling when it came off. Often took multiple hours for them to respond to call button. With the sling One morning I called my boyfriend and he arrived and fixed the sling long before they found someone to put it on correctly.
My family member was a very sick patient at this rehab. He had an accident overnight and they still hadn’t cleaned it up by 11am. They yelled at my family member for having an accident. They also failed to communicate visitor times. I would highly recommend to consider avoiding this place.
Park Ave Health Center is a wonderful and caring facility for the aging. The small facility and one to one interactions with residents, makes this elder caring facility...a welcoming resolution to any family. My mom is treated well, and the staff there care for her like their own. The facility is always clean, the food is good....fresh coffee and tea, are free. Check out this unique living home for your loved one. We are very happy!
I have to write this review in response to the negative review written three years ago. This facility is much changed since that review was written. My 86 y/o father was admitted for a short term rehab stay and we have found the staff to be friendly and helpful. He's still there and it's too early to assess how well they do with him clinically but we've been impressed with the PT & OT so far. This is a small, homey facility and as these places go, is not too bad at all. Certainly not the Ritz but clean with good, seemingly happy staff.
