Parlor: A Beauty Bar

I have very mixed feelings about Parlor. I've been going there since 2013 and unfortunately the service just isn't how it used to be. My last two experiences were particularly bad. I always request the 10 minute scalp massage service and the Wash, Blowout, and Primp Package. The last couple of times I have left with my roots still damp and my hair much less than satisfactory. I never received my scalp massage at one visit (this is a $10.00 additional service), and at the other visit the stylist used a 10 minute timer but started it when she brought me back to the bowl for my shampoo. I don't even think the actual massage lasted more than 4 or 5 minutes. I used to LOVE treating myself to blowouts here, but now I have a hard time convincing myself to fork over the money because of the poor quality service. I have to say however that everyone has always been extremely friendly and the salon itself is very nice. It's very clean and well-maintained.

I liked my blowout. They were fast and did a great job. More importantly I really liked the people that worked there. They were really genuine and friendly and made me feel included and welcome there. I felt like I was hanging out with friends. That would keep me coming back to Parlor.

My fiance called a few months ago to book her hair appointment for our wedding in September. They told her she was scheduled, but was too far out to sign a contract and to call back closer to the date to confirm. When she called back, she asked for the person that put her on the schedule. They told her that they did not know that name and that she wasn't scheduled. They were booked for our wedding day, so now she is searching for a new parlor. Extremely poor customer service.

(preface; I'm a wedding photographer) My bride from last weekend and her mother and bridesmaids had their hair and makeup done at Parlor and it was amazing how fast they were! I was incredibly impressed with the speed and talent. Everyone looked great and we were not only on schedule but EARLY! The ladies were wonderful at listening to what the clients wanted and delivering. Hair and makeup lasted well throughout the night.

Parlor was fantastic! I did the bridal pretty package. Sarah was my makeup artist and was outstanding. I love make up and she did exactly what I wanted to make me look beautiful! I am so thrilled with her customer service. She is also a fantastic hair stylist who knows what she is doing and is there to make you look pretty! Monica did my hair for my wedding. She did such a great job! I loved my hair style and she too had great customer service! She was very nice and did exactly what I wanted too. The gentleman at the front desk (I apologize I did not get his name) was just outstanding! He was extremely caring and just perfect to work with! I want to thank all three of you for making my special day so perfect! I greatly appreciate everything you did for me! I give Parlor 5 stars!
