West Plaza Nails, Salon & Spa

Despite the few recent bad reviews I decided to give them a try. A lot of the stuff complained about could've been prevented if they took the time to look over their site. Always a good idea especially if you're particular about your service. Anyways I'm from out of town and needed a place to go to get a fill. This was one of few places open at 9. The guy I had was friendly and I thought he did a great job fixing up my nails, shape and color looks good. Took about 45 mins and pricing was fair. Glad I decided to ignore the negative reviews. If I ever come back to the KC area I'd return.

I dropped in for a manicure/pedicure from Tom. He was very friendly. A nice atmosphere & decor.

Great experience. The staff very friendly and helpful in finding matching Mani pedi colors. Decent price especially for being so close to the plaza. I don't get my nails done often but if I do I plan to return here.

I've been here a few times now and neither of my manicures have been done right. They are not good at cleaning up cuticles and my nails were not consistently shaped either time. I guess it's okay in a pinch, but I don't recommend this place if you know what you like. The people are perfectly nice and pleasant and the service has been good. I suspect that your experience may depend on who your technician is.

Went in almost 2 weeks ago for a new full set and have been seething about my experience ever since. To begin, she did not soak off my old nails, instead she drilled them off, leaving part of the old acrylic on the nail. I always get the stiletto shape and when I said that's what I wanted I was never told she did not know how to do that. Even though I showed her multiple pictures and explained how to properly shape them, I ended up with a long oval shape. I told her they needed to be pointy and she basically just sharpened the ends of the nails while continuing to round the rest of it. All of my nails are shaped differently and have weirdly different lengths and the acrylic was applied sloppily, so thin that they bend if I apply too much pressure, and not smoothed properly. I had gel polish put on, as I always do, and within a day it started chipping - a problem I have NEVER encountered anywhere else I have gone. To my knowledge, there were no prices posted (I am aware this may be my fault for not asking) but I ended up paying $55 for the WORST nails I have ever had - I usually pay ~$35 for an amazing set. When I left, my fingers literally hurt. Do not go here if you want something out of the "norm" as far as nail shape and do not go here if you don't want to waste your money. Worst nail job ever.
