My hair looks renewed after Alexis transformed it. Thanks again! 10/10 rec but just a heads up it can take longer because it is a school! def worth the wait and cool environment
This school needs to teach the caucasian students not to be scared of African American hair! Especially when the patrons have a nice grade of hair. They need to teach these young ladies about criticisms of all kinds. If a person is working on your hair, and you don't like what their doing you should be able, in a nice way to let them know without them having a meltdown! it shouldn't take an hour alone to blowdry one head! And passing a flatirons through one's head is totally unacceptable! Teach them the right way. If we have a problem with whom select we have to hear that whole " these are students " speech!! Well teach them of the different textures of hair they'll encounter and how to do it! No one should be uncomfortable when doing something that is supposed to be exciting! Respectfully. .. Thank you!
This as my second time going the school. The first time it was good besides me getting burned a few times. This second time he student was very pleasant and did her best. I as not pleases, it was ok with it knowing she as a student. After she finished my head was continuously itching. I asked one instructor who was unpleasant f she knew what type of shampoo was used and she said no I need to ask the instructor that there at the time. She could of done that and been more pleasant n addressing my issue.. I then approached the instructor and asked what type is shampoo was used she went to ask the student. She informed me what was used I told her about the heaviness of my hair and she has an excuse for that and said they wouldn’t use it the next time. I told her another issues I had with my hair and she just looked at me dumbfounded and said nothing. I didn’t want anything I think a customers feed back to to help the students with the next customer. I will not go back.
It was awesome. Alicia did such a beautiful job. She was very professional and did exactly what I was wanting. Highlights were so pretty. . Going back in a couple months.
DO NOT GO HERE!!! If you want to waste half of your day and have your hair absolutely RUINED, then maybe you might consider this place. They clearly don’t know what they are doing!!! I was there for SEVEN HOURS for highlights. 16 inches of my hair was fried. Had to go to a different salon so they could fix it. I LOST ALL OF THAT HAIR. Absolutely unacceptable.
Thought I'd give the School a try for a simple color and cut. The color is extremely spotty because she started at the bottom instead of the top greys. Then the cut was straight across no layering at all and was so uneven that I had to visit another salon to fix it. Spent $65 at the school and another $35 to get it fixed. I understand that they are students but the trainer even came by to straighten the cut and it was still completely off. Cheap or not, will not go back.
I've only been here one time so far, but I'll be back. The girl that cut my hair was very nice, friendly and knowledgeable. As with any beauty school, you have to know going in that any service is going to take a lot longer than if you go to a salon because they periodically have to have the instructors look at your hair. She did a great job cutting my hair and then one of the instructors put the finishing details on it. Overall, very pleased with the service and you can't beat the price $20 for a haircut. I do have to say it seemed a little disorganized when I went in. Probably because it was extremely busy. The parking lot is huge and I got the last spot. Even though I had an appointment, I still waited at least 20 minutes. Turns out, the girl who cut my hair was also waiting for me at the same time. They hadn't told her I had arrived. So just a little mishap. Overall, I had a good experience and I will be back. As others have said in their reviews, if something doesn't turn out the way you want it to, keep in mind that they are students and they are learning. An instructor will fix your hair for you if you don't like it. And I believe they also have a 7 day guarantee.
Everyone needs to understand this is a school you can't give these people 2 stars for learning how to do stuff they are not professionals yet. If you want flawless results go spend $100 on getting your hair done at a shop. Everyone I've had do my hair had a great attitude if I didn't like my hair I spoke up and someone eventually fixed it right. Overall I love the place. I see talented people trying to make a career and be educated more. I'm proud of all of them for at least trying THIER best. Some students better than others but overall its a good place to get your hair done
Very happy with my hair. I got a spiral wrap perm. I think it was the stylist's first such perm. I showed her pictures of how the perm should be wrapped. It took all afternoon but turned out great. It was my first time going to a school for such an important service. Even my daughter who advised me against it agrees it looks good. I did have to ask for the supervisor to check before applying the solutions and some of the rollers needed to be tightened as well as using picks to both tighten the rollers and lift the bands from laying on the hair. So overall a very good experience but don't hesitate to ask stylist to get help when you're not sure about what's happening. I will continue to go to Paul Mitchell for my hair needs.
