Pawsitive Paul's Dog Training

I used Paul to help me with my new rescue dog, Maggie who was having some fear reactivity to other dogs. Though it took a little while to schedule an appointment - a good thing because it meant that there were a lot of people using him - he came over and provided me with the skills necessary to work with Maggie. During the appointment, he stayed chatting and giving advice for specific issues for as long as necessary. I didn't feel like the appointment was rushed at all or on a time limit. You definitely have to commit to working with your dog in order for them to succeed but this is something I knew going into it. Maggie recently regressed due to it being so cold out and not getting as much mental stimulation as usual so I contacted Paul via email who then offered to speak with me on the phone to help give me suggestions. It was so helpful and great knowing that I can reach out to him in the future for advice without a charge is great. His price is also very reasonable for trainers in the area. You usually only need 1-2 training sessions with him - other private trainers I looked into required you purchase 4 sessions. I could go on and on but just wanted to say HIGHLY recommend!!

Merlin had a great time working with Paul! I am so grateful to have Paul as a resource in helping my puppy grow into the best dog he can be. We first met when Merlin was 3 months of age last week... He came to our house where Merlin is most comfortable - it was great to have confirmation that I am doing the right thing as a new puppy mom! He really understands how dogs think and reads various behaviors. I feel comfortable reaching out with questions down the road. We look forward to group sessions later this month. This is only the beginning to a long term relationship! :)

The class was helpful and Paul is a good trainer, but he's kind of flakey and we didn't receive notes from the last class despite a couple of email requests for them.

My husband and I w Paul's training was really helpful for our dog Rocky. He was a 15 month old rescue at the time and this group training really helped teach us and our dog some basic techniques that we could reinforce at home. After each session, Paul would send weekly notes to us as a follow up and was always just an email or phone call away if we had a question. We would highly recommend Pawsitive Paul's Dog Training!

Paul is an outstanding trainer and a lovely human being. He came to my home for a private lesson with my 6-month-old Weimaraner whose energy he described as "off the charts". To be completely honest, despite recently having lost a 13.5 year old Weim (so I know the breed well and love them), I have been contemplating returning her to the breeder because of her erratic and stressful behavior. When Paul arrived, my pup, Ocean, repeatedly jumped on him and even nipped at his arm. Paul swiftly and calmly escorted her to her crate – just for a couple minutes – and repeated this several times as he explained how the crate can be used (in moderation and only for extreme bad behavior) in this way. And there were other new techniques he introduced Ocean and me to over the course of 2 hours. Miraculously, ever since Paul's visit, Ocean has been even and manageable. He knows his stuff! And he helped me shift my plan for her exercise and maintenance so I feel encouraged and hopeful. I want to assure prospective clients that Paul is a knowledgeable, skillful, upbeat, reliable professional who is committed to successful outcomes.
