I just finished a few months of PT for a shoulder issue. I had a partial tear in the rotator cuff and then broke my collar bone. Peak Motion PM helped me work through these and avoid surgery. I loved the model PM uses which is an open floor where the patient rotates through their plan and are helped by whichever staff member is nearby. This keeps the session moving and I loved getting to work with the different therapists. They really motivate and push you through the stages of healing. The staff is constantly vigilant on cleaning stations between patients. That plus good music, big screen TVs and well-lit via big windows makes this a great place to heal! Loved the front desk staff as well with changes to appointments and support. I will ask to go back here in the future if ever needed!
My experience with Peak Motion has been nothing short of wonderful. A high integrity company. The staff is very caring and well trained. The front office staff is welcoming, and the billing department was detailed in what is expected from me and my health insurance. I highly recommend this facility.
I “graduated” Peak Motion Therapy a couple of weeks ago. I only have good things to say about them. They have well trained physical therapists working with the patient one-on-one most of the time. The place is clean and pleasant and the equipment gets sanitised after each use. Management and employees are friendly and their PT techniques work.
ABQ, NM Peak Motion Physical Therapy was an Excellent experience for me with the Staff, and Katherine for my Cervical Spine Therapy. She was polite, caring, and focused. Also unique and personalized! I was 100% satisfied with the explanation of treatment and help with pinpointing problem areas as well as exercises to overcome pain for my congenital torticollis, and scoliosis. By the end of my last appt with her I really did feel a Big difference of relief. My goal is to continue these exercises in my daily routine with a healthy diet is also a Must in order to avoid Surgery. I Greatly appreciate You, Kat it sure was an Awesome experience with you to help me physically and mentally-I felt much better. Felt like I had known you for a long time. That's how comfortable you made me feel as a professional therapist that you are. Well done! TY ...Another Big plus the facility is sanitized each use of machines and hands are watched before each person begins they're exercises in the entrance of the doors after you've signed in. Sure was an amazing experience!
I love the physical therapists however I feel that front office staff unnecessarily made me wait for my appointment time which I arrived 15 minutes early for to find that my checkin time was 15 minutes later. I had completed all necessary paperwork and watched several patients come in after and have their physical therapist called over the PA system. I once again checked with the front desk to remind them I was still waiting to be told that my check-in time was not until 10:15. It was not until 1015 that my physical therapist was told that I was ready for them over the PA system. I felt that there were two different standards going on for myself and other patients with regard to the waiting area. I ended up waiting a total of 40 minutes in the waiting area prior to my appointment. The physical therapist who may have been free was not given the opportunity to know that I was ready ahead of my scheduled appointment time and I don’t feel that was a good practice.
Over two years I went to Peak Motion three different times. I felt like all the PTs and PTAs really cared. I love there model of care. Scheduling and rescheduling when necessary was a breeze. Everyone was friendly and helpful!
BUYER BEWARE. Predatory billing practices. I took my 12 year old to PEAK MOTION PHYSICAL THERAPY to get physical therapy for a knee injury. I asked them to explain the billing process to me up front. It's always confusing to agree to treatment costs when you have a high deductible plan. They said that the sessions were $100 per session until the deductible was met. I asked about cash pay and they said it was $100 per hour. It was never explained that they bill the insurance 3X the amount for the same session as cash pay and you are responsible for the difference until your deductible is met. I thought that if it was $100 per session cash pay and $100 per session toward the deductible that it would be good to have the money go toward the deductible, which, when I asked the billing and reception they confirmed my assumptions were correct. I would have NEVER agreed to go here had I known that it would cost me on average $180 per session out of pocket. I'm sure they know that, which is why they keep it vague. Over the course of 5 weeks, I paid $1000 out of pocket for him to receive 10 sessions of treatment. This was a sacrifice for our family but my son was having a hard time walking and needed the treatment. I was not allowed to accompany my son during treatment which also seemed shady since he is underaged and any other type of medical treatment he's received I've been allowed to accompany him. I'm usually inquisitive about treatment and costs and most doctors are forthcoming and sensitive to the potential additional costs for families with children -- not being able to witness the treatment to know or ask what costs more or to approve additional treatment, wasn't a thought at the time because I was under the assumption that sessions were $100 per hour. I received no bill until MONTHS after his treatment, so I had no idea what they were charging insurance the billing department blamed the insurance for not sending me reports, they said it was not their responsibility to tell me what I am charged. I received many calls to get my son back into therapy over the summer. When I finally received the bill, every session was at a different rate, with no explanation as to why. Treatments were in April and May and the first bill I received was in JULY -- months after treatment where I was charged an additional $492. What they didn't tell me was that they bill the insurance 3x what they charge the individual and of course the insurance does not pay anything until the deductible is met which in our case was high. They were quick to try to get us in to do as many sessions as possible, delay bills or explanation of treatment so that no adjustments could be made in real time... then bill long after treatment. I begged billing to treat this as cash pay -- since I have already paid $1000 and by that logic, we are square. But she insisted that since they've already gone through insurance that I am responsible for the payment. That I would have had to agree to cash pay UP FRONT except they were not clear about billing AND there is NOTHING they can do. Even though I agreed to treatment under false pretenses. Which -- I think is what they want. They don't want you do to cash pay so they can charge the insurance 3X the amount, leave you on the hook for it, and then when the insurance gets to the 80%/20% ratio you will still owe nearly $100 per session because they are charging the insurance between $200-$300 per hour. PLEASE don't go here. They are dishonest in how they represent payments. I was upset when I talked to the billing department -- and they just kept talking down to me, telling me I wasn't listening, eventhough their excuses felt more like gaslighting. They were not at fault for their initial explanation. It was clearly my fault for not understanding them from the beginning. It was the insurance companies fault for them not sending a bill, and it was my responsibility to understand their nuanced billing through my insurance company...and that regardless I was was responsible for treatment costs.
I have been a patient at Peak Motion on several occasions ever since they first opened. Their physical therapists who actually work on their patients, are all professionally educated and certified by the State of New Mexico. They are not just "techs". They keep up with the latest science and techniques utilized in physical therapy for a variety of injuries, movement, strength, and balance treatments. I feel welcome each time I enter the facility and the staff obviously like what they do and where they work, and their enthusiasm is infectious. I have always made improvement in my condition after completion of treatment. I highly recommend Peak Motion as THE place to go for expert quality and results achievement.
I had an accident that damaged the nerve in my neck, which caused 90 % loss of movement in my left shoulder. I started PT with Katherine Kat, an after seven, 1hr treatments, i have regained 95% of the loss. Kat is very knowledgeable, devoted and pleasant. I would highly recommend Peak Motion Therapy an Katherine. Dwayne Bacon
