Pearlstone is a beautiful retreat facility nestled into the rolling hills of the Maryland country side. Pearlstone offers dinning and lodging which is a pleasure for any conference. One can relax on the walking trails or canoeing on the small picturesque lake. Kids and adults alike cab play basketball or go zip lining. Everyone should take the time to explore the farm, land, and all Pearlstone has to offer.

Last week I was scheduled to interview as executive chef for this retreat centerOn May 9 and 10th, 2018. After purchasing my nonrefundable tickets from Pittsburgh to Baltimore to get to the interview, Rachael Walkins sends me an email stating that the Executive Director would not be available for the interview, And continuously not responding to emails or phone calls to figure this out. It is unbelievable to me that a food and beverage director of a major property would not have their email sent to their smart phone to respond in a timely fashion in situations like this. When I called today to discuss with her or the director how we can fix this I was introduced to three staff members who did nothing but be rude and talk over myself while trying to explain the situation. Then the HR person conjured up that I used Abusive language when all I said was, “You need to get your stuff together when performing interviews because this is ridiculous.”

I have been on staff here for over 4 years and can say that I have been blessed by the dynamic workplace, the talented and passionate staff, and the amazing array of guests that we serve. And, we have baby goats! Who doesn't love baby goats?
