We were headed for Golden Carol when we randomly decided to pull over to this place on a Saturday evening I dont know what Town its located exactly but i would never forget it ...When we got to the counter the price was 50 and it was just me and My Boyfriend.......They gave no indication of price when entering...but by looking you would think it was a tropical buffet. so we just sit in .It was kind of small...but the food was good..love the ribs and peach cobbler ... They were selling snow crabs...I guess that why, but it was an unforgettable experience
Food was great, but the service had both me and my husband with a loss of appetite. Our waitress was not only unatitive but rude. She messed up another tables order and argued with the customer enough that the customer gave up and just ate what she was given. I waited a good 10 minutes for a refile. Asked for water instead of what I had and she then brings me the wrong thing and tries to say she heard me say just a refill. Then when I voice my dissatisfaction with the hostess the hostess gets an attitude with me. My husband and I will not be returning.
We were on a roadtrip from Los Angeles, CA and just wanted to try their famous catfish and sweet tea in Mississipi. We came to this place, it looks like there's buffet serving inside, but we went there on an odd time, so there was no buffet. But it was fine, coz I can't eat that much catfish. We tried their fried catfish and their grilled ones. They were seasoned well and it was yummy. The service was great, really felt the southern hospitality in this place. But I have to say, the place has a distinct old restaurant smell which I didn't like when I first went inside. It must be the carpet that's too old, or the place is just too old. But overall, their food and service was great.
Myself and my family have eaten here several times throughout the years. They've been open for a really long time. It is strange to me though that a fish restaurant doesn't serve fish on their Buffet. That is a disappointment. But they do have good fried chicken.
HORRIBLE. My co-worker and I just left there for lunch. Everything we got on the buffet was nasty. The spaghetti was super sweet like a dessert, the greens and green beans were cold to which the staff said the burner were turned down to which they turned back up. My co- worker had to ask them to warm her food up in the microwave. Another couple that was there turned their plates back in and left saying all their food was cold as well. The chicken I got was dry and hard. The roll was hard like they had been sitting out all day. We finally decided to get fries and pork chop since nothing else tasted good. The first pork chop was good but the second piece we both had were not fully cooked and were rather chewy. The peach cobbler was pretty good and the yams were okay. This was both our first time at this location. Then there was a horrible rancid smell when it was time to pay and leave. That smell was the worst we ever smelled before and made me sick. There was a slight odor when we first arrived like old closed up building smell which should have warned us in the first place but being we were so hungry since we both missed breakfast we went on in like dummies. We will never go here again. Worst experience of our lives. We will stick to only going to the one on Lake Harbour Rd, but that is when we start back eating at Penn's but that isnt looking promising.
The ladies were very friendly on my visit. I ordered the chicken sandwich with fries and drink. Loved it!. The fish here is delicious too. If you want some good ol' soulful catfish; this is your go to place!
Air conditioning not working properly and it was uncomfortable hot. Food was mediocre to say the least. Don't go expecting any type of seafood on the buffet. Was wondering by the volume of cars in the parking lot if the food was really that good and was very disappointed. Wondering no more nor visiting again.
Daily buffets and extra special dishes on Sundays. Buffet includes all you can eat if home cooked foods, including drink, coffee and choice of delicious desserts. Good vegetables and Great selection of meats. Great service.
Avoid the restaurant. I purchased the catfish dinner for $9.47. The catfish appeared old, only a teaspoon of baked beans and coleslaw were included in a small container. Additionally, I had to wait 10 minutes for the order. I asked the server how many pieces of fish accompany the catfish dinner, she stated, "four or five." However, they were four or five fish nuggets. Two pieces of the "four or five" were acceptable. The cost exceeded the quality and quantity.
Went in an hour before buffet started, was seated by waitress. Had a foul moldy smell inside and the condition looked run down. Right after we got our drinks, noticed a shadow in the corner of my eye on the edge of the table. The largest roach I have ever seen. My wife and I jumped up and my 3 year old was terrified. This roach looked like he owned that table! He has been eating for a while there. Rushed out and will never be back.
