I have shopped at Grand Central MARKET for 13 years. I've always stopped at Pescatore but never brought anything. Recently while looking, two very nice young ladies wanted to ensure I was getting help. I decided to buy the shrimp salad roll. I was not disappointed. The Space is small but clean, the staff was very nice and remembered me by face. If you have any food allergies Shell Fish, Peanut butter, etc.. the staff is available to answer any questions. Ohh and their soups are good too.
Pescatore Seafood Company in the Grand Central Market provides a variety of fresh fish, sushi to go and pre-made takeout items like lobster dumplings and crab cakes. We bought a half dozen each of their crab and lobster dumplings on our way to the train. We preferred the lobster. Notable in the filling. If you're a Manhattan resident or if you are a short ride on a commuter train away, there's a lot of beautiful fish choices to bring home for dinner.
Just go to Citarella instead!!! Five days in advance I placed an order for a dinner party. I received a text message from them that the order had been received and confirmed. When the delivery date and time went by I called them to see how late the delivery was running. They told me my order had been cancelled and Door Dash should have contacted me. Door Dash. I place a $150 seafood order and they don’t even have the courtesy to call me directly when they screw up. Additionally, they clearly do not have the business acumen to manage a future delivery. They left me with nothing and I would NEVER trust them again. NEVER!!
I order from Pescatore quite regularly through Mercato usually and have never been disappointed and I’m super picky when it comes to freshness!. My go-to selection usually includes their wild cod, lemon sole, shrimp, and their gluten free lobster cakes.
These people seem genuinely angry and annoyed when having to speak to and serve customers. Every time I go I am either ignored for 5 minutes or someone will angrily ask me if they can help me. Some of the fish is frozen and if you ask if it’s frozen they will become very angry and annoyed. Even the fresh fish tastes off. It’s a shame since i live close by, but I will be taking my business to Midtown Catch despite the longer walk. Your employee’s lack of respect and common courtesy just cost you business!!
Ordered through mercato I wish I could give them 0 I work in a state agency through building management. We order yesterday for 5 lobster rolls and the food stayed there for hours we decided to reschedule it for today. Called in to confirmed the delivery was being made & they lied & told us it was picked up at 2:45 it is now 3:45 they reached back out to tell us the driver just picked up 15mins ago. I thought this was a great location. Will not be ordering from them again. I do not recommend!
YUM! I've had a bunch of products from Pescatore Seafood Company. Prepared foods...fresh fish...soups...all was perfect and delicious. Reasonable pricing for excellent quality fish. Try them out and you won't be disappointed! With new free local delivery it's a win-win. NYC-gem for sure!
I have been going to Pescatore since they opened. Always top quality seafood. Their ready made crab cakes, lobster bisque to die for and the list goes on. Glenn and Jerry are excellent fishmongers!
When in NYC a must is the Prescatore seafood section at the Grand Central Market - There is always something unique that you will not find anywhere else. You can smell the freshness. One item got my eye was the Salmon Meatballs in a tomato sauce. I never saw these before and said ah! why not! I am not sure if they should have been warmed up but WOW what a mouth watering experience the flavors wee outstanding I bought the 3 item special and so glad I did as I was able to savoir the excitement for 2 days. Do not miss out on this excellent purveyor of fine sea foods.
A convenient location and good source of fish for the area. Their shrimp scampi and clams are nice. The staff can be a bit absent, inattentive or dismissive. Not sure if it’s because they are understaffed. Sometimes when I ask about a certain fish the response is usually- I don’t know I just got here. Not something you want to hear when you’re spending a lot of money at this place.
