Poor birds’ waters looked unclean, cages looked low maintained. Employees need to keep eye on birds and if you see that their waters look like this then change them, even if you have to multiple times a day. I asked the lady how often they change the water, they say day and night, but if you have 1 bird per cage, the water shouldn’t look that dirty. I’m infuriated and will steer everyone I know away from this place.
Every time I go to this location their fish room is in very bad condition. Multiple dead fish in tanks, purple algae all over the glass as if it never gets cleaned, selling deformed fish, multiple tanks with fish with ICK disease that ARE BEING SOLD, the woman at the front of the store claims that she cleans the tanks herself & stated that they are short staffed this week but this is every time I go there, maybe they should stop having a license to buy these “pets” if they can’t properly take care of them. Something must be done about this! The tanks looked awful while the “manager” just sat in the front staring into blank space doing absolutely nothing. Pet world is great for non living things but they are awful with living pets!
The only place I can find the primate biscuits that my parrot will happily munch! Always a nice selection of treats and supplies for birds and small furry kids, as well as dogs and cats. I drive 30 miles to get those primate biscuits...have tried other brands...she won't touch them!
Great place to find what you are looking for. 1 out of three sales persons was very helpful, friendly and went the extra mile to make up for the other two. Our very large dog food bad ripped open when we were trying to get the food bag in the right position to scan. The checker just looked at us and finally asked another person for tape to close up the bag. The third employee said, "give me a minute and I will bring up another bag for you." Props to the 3rd employee!
Complaint Details The location I’m referring to is the Pet World Warehouse inc at 5415 S 27th St Greenfield, WI 53221. The fish tanks are covered in algae that would take more than a few months to grow, and tanks are full of dead fish that would only take minutes to scoop out, if they cared enough to do so. I spoke to the manager and the claim-to-be owner, Dan, and they were very aware of the conditions of the tanks and just didn't care. Dan Linck and manager claimed that they were short staffed. At most there were 3-4 cars in the parking lot at a time, there were more employees in the store than customers. I saw there were 4 employees not including manager and owner so 6 all together. I observed manager and an employee wandering and chatting. Another employee was walking through the fish area with her hands in her pockets. All my concerns were shrugged off. I offered to rescue a tank of fish, we agreed on a price then when I mentioned my disgust to the only other shopper in the store, they refused to sell me the fish. Owner Dan had no answer as to why the tanks were in the conditions they were, and even laughed when I expressed my concerns. Animal health and safety are definitely not top priority. I was looking to purchase fish but my son and I did look at the other animal rooms. Bunnies in tanks not cages that are way to small. Filthy bird cages with old food and dirty water. Lizards malnourished with feces piled in habitat. Dead feeder mice. I was actually crying in the store. Cannot believe this place is still open. The owner needs to be held accountable. Can somebody like the health department stop him from being able to sell animals? I have contacted several places such as the health department, Greenfield police, PETA and news stations.
I took a walk around this store and was absolutely disgusted. Almost every fish tank has dead fish floating, and the tanks look like they haven't been touched in months. No water in any dishes in the reptile and mammal section and they look sick and lethargic. The place smells like death and the prices are insane. Shut it down already and save these poor animals.
Bad experience do not recommend plus they charge extra tax on each individual item and not as a whole after sale. Fish room is disgusting and in very bad condition. People didnt even know how to messure tubbing and lie about prices when they have a piece of paper and boxes out that show you exactly what it is. Do not recommend employees were clueless and you can never find a employee when needed. Any fish lovers not the place.
It had been some years since being here but we stopped in to look at the animals and get some supplies for our guinea, the condition of all the animal rooms is disgusting. The fish room there was only a few fish left it looks abandoned the tanks are poor condition the ceiling tiles and flooring is run down. Everything is out dated . I don't know how you work or own a pet store and don't care about the animals. At this point they need to be shut down or not allowed to sell animals. I can't believe they still in business
