Petite Provence

About

Petite Provence is a locally owned restaurant & bakery in Portland, OR. Serving hearty breakfast, lunch, dinner & our artisan bread, dessert, and pastries.

Story

In 1996, a small group of friends came together to share their passion for food and pastry from their home country, France. Soon after, they decided to open La Provence Bakery & Bistro, located in Lake Oswego, Oregon. By popular demand, and to accommodate a growing wholesale bakery, they opened a second shop on SE Division Street in Portland, Petite Provence Boulangerie & Patisserie. This location has a special glass door in the dining room so you can see the bakery at work. An opportunity arose to expand to The Dalles, Oregon, and in 2007, Petite Provence of the Gorge was opened for business. Soon after followed Petite Provence Alberta. We continue to grow and add locations, with hopes of reaching everyone in the Portland-Metro area. To see where to find the closest location to you, click on the Hours & Locations link to the right.

As a group of restaurants, we try to keep our menus and offerings similar, while still allowing our chefs creative freedom to give each location its own special character. It is our goal to bring you a bit a France with each visit. We also strive to use local products whenever possible and be environmentally responsible.

INCREDIBLE SERVICE!! The staff was so welcoming and made us feel right at home. They were well versed in the menu and refilled our drinks plenty of times. We got the BLT, Banana French toast, and eggs Benedict and I would highly reccomend all of them! Their croissants especially are amazing and flacky. This is a great breakfast stop in Portland
Brunch today with a good group of friends. I always saw this place but never went into any of their locations until today. Very friendly and attentive service. The atmosphere was very chill and light. I'm generally not a brunch or a breakfast person but this place is one of my new exceptions. Breakfast - had a salmon hash with over easy eggs. And it was so filling but not too heavy like most hash breakfast is. It was a very great post work out delicious breakfast. It comes with a croissant with a red jam which was a delicious add on. I had their old fashion and for a brunch place, I was pleasantly surprised that their old fashion was spot on. Also I made sure to ask if their old fashion was served in a single ice cube as some other places serve it with multiple ice cubes it makes a difference, even tho I sound super pretentious. But I loved that the server was so receptive to my question.
I'll start with the bad, expect to wait, a lot. If you're planning to stop by for a quick breakfast or brunch meal, go elsewhere. Waiting to be seated took long enough but even after the fact, we were forgotten on completely. I wish I were kidding but from the moment we sat down to the moment we got our food it was a bit past an hour, which is insane for a small establishment that wasn't too busy. The saving grace of the restaurant was its food, as well as one particular gentleman, Marquis. I very well may be misspelling it or be getting the name wrong entirely but it was a younger man behind the bar area. He noticed we got missed and was attentive for the rest of the day with our drinks and check. If not for him our impression of the establishment would be severely diminished as everyone else working was just nonexistent. The food itself was great. Well seasoned, great serving size, reasonably priced. Honestly the small quaint French cafe theme is charming as well. Overall a good experience if you have plenty of time on your hands. Get better workers, Marquis' back must be broken from carrying the entire service team.
Fabulous brunch spot on Alberta. Tasty food, good service and great drinks. The covered outdoor area is between the sidewalk and street and provides shade through mid day. We loved our hearty meals and the fresh green juice was fabulous. The crossaints were so light and fresh. We will definitely return.
Went here to try their French toast and it didn’t disappoint. I loved the caramelized bananas on top. So yummy. We had a great service and enjoyed our brunch, the inside decorations were pretty and gave that European vibe.
Made a quick stop here for a coffee and croissant. Seated and served by a friendly waitress channeling her French counterpart. Authentic pastries made with quality ingredients. You can smell the butter! A little bit of France on Alberta street. Spacious, clean bathrooms.
This place was excellent. The vibe in here is very homey, the service is fantastic, and to top it off, the food is also incredible. A bit pricey, and it could be a longer wait time, but it’s so worth it. I’m an avid tea drinker too and the tea selection, while a bit limited, is just fantastic.
Stopped in for breakfast while visiting Portland. Delicious croissants and beautiful pastries. My chai came with a festive pumpkin design which I loved. The service was okay- not super friendly but not terrible. Our favorite thing was the mini pavlova- wish we could have eaten more pastries!Food: 5/5
The best food all weekend long. The home made corned beef hash was the best I've had in many years. That almond croissant was to die for.
Sat at the bar. The bartender was pretty good. 4 stars as I wasn’t crazy about the Monte Cristo but maybe I just wasn’t in the mood. Definitely wanna try some other dishes though. The Sunset juice was quite good, indeed.
