This is certainly not my first time at Petunias, it opened after I left Portland but we come here when visiting. Even on the day after Thanksgiving, when they didn’t have a full complement of all their menu items, they still had plenty of excellent savory dishes and pastry case sweets to choose from! My son liked the cute pink plates. We had a whoa-reo chocolate mint sandwich, a babycakes cupcake, and margarita pizza. All were excellent, and the pumpkin spice latte was 1990s-style enormous. The cafe was clean and tasteful, with the music at the right volume, and the service was delightfully friendly. My one suggestion— which maybe would have been different on a different day? — would be a few savory pastries in the case. Vegetarian options: Vegan Dietary restrictions: ALL vegan and gluten free.
Everything was absolutely stunning and delicious! Set up was so lovely!!! I loved how everything looked, so classy and beautiful! Exactly how I told her I wanted! The cake was absolutely delicious!!! Everyone was talking about how delicious everything was, and couldn’t believe it was vegan and gluten free!!! Like literally all of my wedding guests told me how wonderful the cake was!!! They are such pleasurable people to be dealing with during your wedding planning process, so professional and just absolutely 100% recommend!!
A delightful spot serving all vegan + gluten free items, as well as espresso drinks + tea. I went on a peaceful Sunday morning and only waited in line for a few minutes, although a steady stream of people came and went as I sat there. The pecan bun, cinnamon roll, and cinnamon swirl coffee cake were all delicious. Most special of all was being able to confidently order anything I wanted! Thanks for existing, Petunia's! Dietary restrictions: All vegan + gluten free options. They also have an extensive allergen menu for others dietary needs
I’ve been here three or four times already, and overall have been very impressed. Atmosphere: This most recent visit, I walked in, and it’s relaxed and quiet with chill music playing. Last time, they had the cure playing which I also enjoyed. It always smells nice, is clean, and everyone inside seems happy. Sort of low key overall. I dig it. Service: Maggie has been so kind, welcoming, informative, and caring — honestly they’re a big part of the reason I keep coming back with my friends. They always ask us how the food is, make recommendations, go out of their way to confirm ingredients, and really make you feel like you belong. Huge shoutout to Maggie for being amazing. Food: I’ve tried the margherita pizza, the soup of the day — chili, the chai, the buster bar, avocado toast, and the mac and cheese. Ok let me just start out by saying the bread that comes with the soup — gluten free bread — has been so moist, fluffy, stretchy, and amazing. Best gluten free bread roll I’ve ever had. The chili was also delicious and flavorful. Cannot recommend it enough. The buster bar and the cookie bar can’t remember what it’s called are soooo good. Definitely come for the sweets. The chai has also brought me joy. Really good bites here. Overall: This is a great spot in downtown. Everything is vegan and gluten free. Prices are a bit on the high side, but the atmosphere and service make it worth it. Dietary restrictions: Everything is vegan and gluten free.
Food here is amazing, we’ve been coming here for 3+ years. The pecan sticky bun is the bestest but often sold out by morning. Their donuts only sold on weekends are SO good, the texture is the best of any GF donut I’ve had. The line can often get long and you wait patiently hoping that the people in front of you don’t order the one thing you’re eyeing in the glass case, and silently cheer as it gets closer to it being your turn and that one thing usually pecan sticky bun is still available Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and vegan, woo hoo
Okay let me start by saying, anyone that has to eat GF knows how much it sucks, add vegan into the mix and can you say sawdust ** no taste** but Petunias blows that stereotype out of the water their treats were amazing, fresh and full of flavour. They also have GF waffle cones. The atmosphere is amazing and colour full. The staff were super friendly. A must stop in while in Portland.
The best bakery in the world and it's Vegan and Gluten free. This was honestly the best apple pie I've ever had. And treat yourself to a mac'n'cheese. And the staff is wonderful!Food: 5/5
