I have been a pottery collector for many years. Pewabic pottery is legendary. The museum/ shop has wonderful pieces on display, and tells the history of the company. There is also an area that features incredible local artists and their pieces for sale. No entrance fee.
I have passed this place probably 10000 times in my life and finally stopped in. Glad I did. Super helpful staff gives some history and answers all my dumb questions. The front room is all stuff made on the premises, the back room is all stuff from around the world. Up stairs is the museum also free. They have a design room with samples and ideas if you want custom tiles done. Very cool space! Highly recommend
Beautiful artwork and a very fascinating tour of the makers studio. Small but informative upstairs museum space. Beautiful gifts. Perfect for any occasion!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Incredible historic landmark. There’s a little free museum upstairs that goes into the history of tile making and pottery in Detroit. The shop downstairs has a beautiful selection from many different artists with a good range of prices to accommodate any budget. We found some small tiles starting at $5 that made for a nice souvenir. I’m so glad we had time to drop in. I highly recommend a visit.
Such beautiful tile & pottery! I was greeted by the sweetest lady when I walked in and she showed me around while explaining how each order is custom made. I’ll definitely order well ahead of time for my next project!
Great historic tile and earthware factory and shop. They produce top notch custom tiles on site. We really enjoyed the excellent tour of the factory which gave great insights into the creation of the tiles.
Kris was so helpful today, apparently I haven't been here in 7 years! I've been ordering online. Beautiful gifts and ornaments.
Really enjoyed walking around the summer sale and the store. Everything is beautiful! Employees are kind and helpful. We left with a couple of tiles and a necklace. We will be back!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo wait
What an epic event this evening at Pewabic Pottery… great food, excellent service, and an interesting group of art lovers and patrons. I’m typically not a fan of these types of events, but this is an annual event that I will not miss in 2025 and beyond. All my expectations were eclipsed… beautiful people, lovely art, and a truly great time. My hat’s off to the organizers, the service staff, and the amazing artists who shared their talent. Thanks for the memories…
Stopped in yesterday to take a peak at the beautiful new inventory and the wonderful new tiles dedicated to Detroit with the Old English D, tiles as well as ornaments. I inquired about classes and the staff was very helpful, taking time to print the information sheet because none were available at the desk and brought them over to me as I browsed.
