I’m so glad I found this place. They have a wide variety of running/walking shoes to fit your specific needs! Justin was very knowledgeable, patient, personable, and helpful! He conducted a gait analysis and guided me through the process of finding the perfect shoes/ insoles for me. I will definitely be coming back here!
I expected a lot more when going to Philadelphia Runner. My physical therapist recommended I go here as I have just started running again, and was getting pretty bad shin splints from not having supportive shoes. I made an appointment, and from what I had read online and heard from others, they usually do an evaluation to determine the best size and kind of shoe for you. The person helping me did not even measure the size of my foot, just asked what size I usually am and pulled some random shoes for me. Spoiler alert, they did not fit because I had never bought 'real' running shoes before so I didn't know my size. I expected a lot more and while I did try on a few shoes, I did not buy any here because I still had no clue what kind of shoes would be best for me or even which size fit me correctly.
Mike helped me find my first true running shoes and was happy that it was on sale as well.. Loving them..
Great experience finding my first serious running shoe! Sarah helped me get fitted and test the shoes out before making a decision which has turned out to be perfect. It has been a few months in the new shoes and I've completed 3 half-marathons so far! Thanks so much and I surely will return when a new pair is needed.
My fiance and I met with Luke today for a shoe fitting at the Walnut St location and he was fantastic. I have wide feet and always have issues picking out the right shoes. Usually I was a fan of Brooks and stuck to them but I started to have fatigue and pain in my shins and ankles on my right leg and decided to look into it further before I ran the Broad St Run again. Luke measured my foot and width, which matched my current shoes so at least I did one thing right, but then he had me walk and run on the treadmill without my shoes on so they could check my gait. Turned out that I overpronate so I needed a shoe for stability. I tried on 3 different pairs of shoes that fit my width and stability that I needed. The first pair was nice and better than my current pair, but the second felt fantastic and I didn't even try to run in the third when they didn't feel as nice as the second did. My ankle didn't roll inward and my stride felt much more comfortable and I felt like I could have gone for hours. After seeing how well and quickly my appointment went my fiance asked Luke if she could have him fit her. She just bought a new pair of running shoes and was curious if there was a pair better for her. She went through the exact same process as me and found a pair of shoes that fit her properly for maybe the first time in her life! Her other new shoes are now bike and cross training shoes instead and the ones Luke helped get pick will be her running shoes. Thanks Luke and Philadelphia Runner for helping us find the perfect shoes!
Super friendly and knowledgeable. Honest. Efficient. Love my new running shoes!
I went to PR in university city looking for new sneakers for work lots of standing and walking at the hospital - everyone was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, and I love my new Hokas. Highly recommend!!
The manager, whose name I think is Sarah, is a customer service model. She knows every shoe in the store, every color, it’s pluses and minuses for different uses. She multitasks between customers like no one I’ve ever met. I have a lot of trouble finding comfortable shoes and never expected to walk out with anything yesterday, let alone the cutest red sneakers. I remembered her vibe from 2-3 years ago when I bought shoes from the center city branch and she hasn’t changed. Definite in her opinions without being pushy or overwhelming. Perfect for indecisive me. Not cheap shoes. Who cares since they last years. Mine are Brooks. Thanks for a wonderful shopping experience.
Best shoe salesperson I have ever had! She truly understands and explains the differences between the different brands and models of running shoes and how they affect your feet.
Awesome customer service with a high quality running sneaker to fit all types styles and preferences
