A World-Class Queer Bookstore and Thrift Store
Philly AIDS Thrift @ Giovanni's Room is a world-class non-profit queer and feminist thrift and book store housed in the historic Giovanni's Room, originally founded in 1973. To date, Philly AIDS Thrift has donated more than $2,033,842 to 29 HIV/AIDS organizations in the five-county Philadelphia region. We will be continuing this work and the legacy of Giovanni's Room by offering a huge selection of queer books, films, and magazines, as well as some of the lovely, useful, interesting, amusing, and sometimes mysterious stuff generous people donate to our thrift store. We are located in two lovely, converted trinity houses at the corner of 12th and Pine, the heart of the Gayborhood in Philadelphia. For many of us, Giovanni’s Room represented the heart of the community, and we are thrilled to be able to celebrate and carry on its legacy with this exciting new project.
