Phoenix Sports Cards

Today was the first time I have stepped into this shop and as an avid and serious fan of nearly all sports, I can tell you to Phoenix Sports Cards is top notch. They are not only the best sports card shop, I've been to in Phoenix, but their customer service is some of the best that I have EVER received, in any industry. There is a super nice lady, who's name is Ruth who claims she is 70 years young, which you would never believe until you start talking to her about sports. Her sports knowledge is far superior to almost any woman (and most men) that I've ever spoken to, which is not a derogatory statement towards women by any means, because Ruth kept up with me on every sports topic I brought up, from every era and knew more about nearly every team, player and situation than I did, and not many people, OF ANY GENDER, can do that! This is a huge feather in her cap, and as beautiful as she is, this 34 year old was ready to ask for her hand in marriage just based on the connection I felt we made over sports. She really made me feel welcome. In fact, I'm chomping at the bit to go back just so I can talk with her some more! WHAT A WONDERFUL WOMAN! Now that I've gushed about my future wife enough, I will say that the management of this place runs a tight ship and has their hand in every part of the industry, from cards and signed memorabilia, to offering case breaks, which if you don't know what that is, stop by and check it out because it's a great opportunity to mix sports and gambling, and your name doesn't even have to be Pete... (if you don't get that reference, stop by and ask Ruth. She will set you straight!) But seriously, if you aren't familiar with case breaks, Chris is a great asset and can explain how it works, although from the looks of it, being the aficionado that he is on the topic, you may want to go in there with more than a few minutes cause BOY DOES HE LOVE TO TALK ABOUT IT. And what a funny guy! And with as much knowledge as he has about all that is sports, be sure to ask him as many questions as you want because HE IS SO NICE. It's almost as if he ran ESPN's CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT in a former life! What a gem! But honestly, one of the coolest and best things about this place (besides Ruth) is that they rent out a portion of their card and memorabilia cases on a consignment basis for the serious collector/entrepreneurs who are interested in making a few extra bucks on the cards and memorabilia that we all undoubtedly accumulate throughout the years. So if you are a sports fan (or just someone who is looking to purchase a great gift for one), stop by and speak to any of the staff at Phoenix Sports Cards and ask them what they recommend or what they have available (especially Chris because is know almost EVERY piece of memorabilia in the store and never has a problem answering any questions). I know this is kind of a long review, but it's very well deserved because this TEAM is full of ALL-STARS! Great job Ruth! (And everyone else at Phoenix Sports cards) P.S. Ruth: I will be looking forward to getting that call about the upcoming NBA Basketball card break!

Just started collecting about two months ago from scratch and everyone in the shop was more than helpful. Whether you are a long time collector or just getting started I would highly recommend coming into the store. I spend a minimum of at least an hour a week hanging out there. Great atmosphere. You also can’t beat the prices! Football to basketball to hockey to show cards to jerseys they got it all. Really glad I found this place!

I have been coming here for a LONG time. They have a large selection of singles and a whole room dedicated to set builders. They have all of the latest and greatest. There is always a group of guys there, they may bust your chops a little.... don't be shy, jump right in and have some fun with it.

It's a nice little shop with a large selection of all you collecting needs. Shop is clean and organized which is nice when you want to browse. Might have some good vibes rolling through as well. They broke 4 Hockey boxes while I was in, and hit three 1/1 Relic Autos.

Phil (one of the partners) is a good guy! He's very kind and reasonable. The entire staff is very knowledgeable too.
