My dog Marley LOVES Piedmont Bark. I can also tell that everyone who works there loves him too. They greet him by his name when we drop him off and sometimes they’ll tell me how goofy he was that day. He doesn’t pull on the leash except for when we get out of the car to drop him off at daycare. We’re waiting a while to get him altered so I’m sad that’ll we’ll have to take a break but we will definitely be back in a year because piedmont bark is like Disney world to him.
FROM A FORMER EMPLOYEE: The problem with this company starts from the top down. If you google the company and read the reviews, there is one review where the owner responds: " ...you are a very unhappy person who is trying to lay blame on someone else for your unhappiness. Shame on you! Your dog is lovely but you are miserable." He carries this level of disrespect and unprofessionalism into the workplace and it is reflected in the current GM and managerial staff. The GM is lazy and spends over 90% of the work day sitting in the office doing absolutely nothing I think I saw them watching Youtube videos a few times. MOST of the "team leads" did not do anything except micromanage the overworked/understaffed employees. Just this summer, 2022 alone, the turnover rate for a low-demand kennel tech job has been unbelievable - over a 2-3 month span 6 or more employees have come and gone one of those employees had been on staff for over 4 years. The owner believes no one wants to work but the truth is, the general manager is incompetent, and has too many personal relationships with other staffers that negatively impacts their ability to adequate do their simple job. If you complain about anything to management, be prepared to be treated differently and possibly fired. Also, be prepared for management to disappear for long periods of time and then magically appear out of nowhere to tell you that its time for lunch. Also, I know the owner the William will likely give this review a similiar response to the one he gave to Hannah Sackin from a year ago. However, I will say that I RARELY ever saw the owner go into the kennel area where the dogs were because he was apparently told by management that "the dogs would go crazy if they saw him" whatever that means. I did NOT witness any beating of the dogs but I did witness team leads and one groomer be particularly rough and aggressive with dogs that were overly excited. During my time of employment, I never got comfortable enough to bring my own dog because the management staff would get upset put dogs away in kennels for prolonged amounts of time. At times, there would be inadequate coverage in the kennel areas which would lead to dogs consuming fecal matter which is hardly, if ever, reported to the dog's parent. With that being said, I hope I never have to "slander" another business as I have with Piedmont BARK ;-
When I entrusted my 8 month old puppy to Piedmont Bark for daycare, I didn’t expect that when I picked her up later that day I would discover a large bloody laceration on her leg that required stitches. Her tail had also obviously been bitten and was missing hair. The reason, however, that I will never be returning to Piedmont Bark is not simply the injury. Nor is it the $800 emergency vet bill that evening for stitches and pain medication. No, the reason I will never return to Piedmont Bark is because I didn’t find out about her injuries from a phone call immediately after they happened. Instead, I had to be the one to find the injuries, hours after they occurred, when the blood in her fur was dried and matted. Staff not only didn’t notice the attack, but never noticed the wide bloody gash. How long did she sit in pain without any medical attention before I came to pick her up? This gross negligence is the reason I will never entrust any animal to Piedmont Bark again. My dog’s wounds were not hard to spot and they were serious enough to require an emergency vet visit. If Piedmont Bark cannot prevent or even notice that type of injury, I can never trust them to take care of my dog. I would encourage anyone who cares about their dog’s health and safety to find a different daycare where staff show even the bare minimum level of concern for the welfare of the animals they’re being trusted to protect. UPDATE: I spoke with the manager several times on the phone and they apologized profusely for the event, and especially for staff not having noticed. Because the injury went unnoticed, they agreed to partially cover vet bills.
I use them regularly for boarding and never have any issues. They need more grooming services. It’s usually not possible to schedule a bath for pickup after a long weekend of boarding or to get a grooming appointment, generally.
I thought everyone knew that Piedmont bark it's the best place to take your best friend with four legs in this case this four-legged creature who is the star name is Lola. And Lola says she gives Piedmont doggy bark four paws up! And she's always willing to sign you an autograph or take a picture with you because she is a superstar. ‍
This is a great establishment. Kind, professional staff. My boxer and golden doodle LOVE coming, and they hate leaving. The staff know them by name, and they even have special events like splash bash for my kids to plays in the water!! Reasonable rates, although I’m upset they removed the 50 day package, and made packages expire after a certain amount of time.
Piedmont Bark is absolutely amazing!! I could not have picked a better place to let my pup play and grow than with them. I appreciate how flexible and accommodating they have been with my schedule. Their staff is truly passionate about taking care of every dog that walks through their doors. We are so happy to be a part of the Piedmont Bark Family!!
