Everything Pilgrim does is so well thought out and high quality. Yes, it's a bit more expensive to initially buy gear here but not in the long run as it outlives other gear and is stylish. What a treat to see the new space! Great job all around and wonderful to finally see one of Williamsburgs most beautiful buildings find its match.
Every piece of clothing that I own from here becomes my new favorite shirt, pant, sweater, or whatever it is. All the details are well thought out - understated, easy, delightful, and really well made. When you visit the store, there is always some vinyl treasure playing alongside the burning pine incense. Pilgrim might just be the coolest store in town.
Delightful little slice of surf culture in Williamsburg whether your waves are in Rockaway, Ditch Plains, or some other spot that is not the East River. Love the vibes, back patio, and analog feel highlighted by vinyl played all day. Friendly and super helpful staff -prices have caused some sticker shock but... new surfboards and associated equipment isn’t exactly cheap. Genuinely great experience each time I’m inside; they care and it shows.
Great location and selection of clothing.
This is basically a hipster place for wanna-be surfers. I lived in So Cal forever and know what a legit surf shop is all about. Thought I would roll in and get a cool Brooklyn surfing t-shirt. First, there was not much merchandise to choose from in any form, and second, no size XL - really ? Simple store logo t-shirt was $48 - but "made in the USA" per the bearded hipster who worked there. Crazy. Using the Starbucks business model where elite prices supposedly equal elite products. That does not fly in this case. Parking is impossible here anyway, so keep driving and save the time and price shock .
Love this store! These guys have great accounts from, Norse Projects, Beams, Vans Vault, Reining Champ and more. Staff are super cool and helpful and are truly dedicated to the stuff they sell. I've been asked many times by friend whenever I tell them about this spot, but they actually do sell surfboards and the necessary equipment to do so.
Big thumbs up for selling swimsuits made from recycled material
This Williamsburg surf-themed shop offers an interesting selection of men's and women's clothing and footwear. The menswear in particular uses some uncommon textiles such as textured corduroy and fine knits. While the style and price isn't quite to my liking, it's worth a visit if you're in the neighborhood. If nothing else, check out the selection of art books in the back.
The products these guys stock are all great quality. The store it's self is epic, it's really well merchandised and looks sick . Don't come here wanting to buy cheap crap, you won't get it, but what you will get is solid quality goods. This said, the customer service ability of the employees who were in the store on the day I walked in last week was nothing short of trash. My local 711 guy is more friendly and does a better job of asking how my day is going. It's largely a missed opportunity for these guys to capitalize on. I wanted to buy a shirt and a Patagonia R3 suit. After no help with what I needed, I made the decision to walk out and shop else where, even after trying these items on. Gauging from the feedback on the net and the experiences some customers have had, change isn't a consideration for these guys. It's just feedback for pilgrim, pick up your game boys. On that note I'd recommend a trip to the Apple Store for some learnings.
Opened by people at the forefront of the surf culture, Pilgrim is now an established casual wear brand. The store carries all the apparel and equipment a surfer could need but also does cater to everybody else looking for a beautiful T-shirt, a comfy hoodie or cool parka. The beautiful boards available in the store are handmade by some of the best shapers in the world.
