First time here. My wife and I heard about them on TV. They had a good long line but it was moving. This being our first time we ordered a variety of things. We ordered brisket, jalapeno & cheese sausage and turkey. Side orders were bacon mac, cole slaw, cheese rice and bread pudding with iced teas. We loved the turkey and sausage. The brisket we thought could use more flavor, the bark was good. We also loved the BBQ sauce, very tasty. Overall a very good experience I know we will be back again.
Not my favourite but pretty good. I’m not a fan of the eating off butcher paper and the line up cafeteria style can feel very high pressure to get your order in as a first timer with the line building up behind you. On a Sunday it is very busy and the tables are just a little too close for people to easily get in and out without bumping other patrons. Everyone in our party agreed their regular sausage is awesome and the ribs are excellent. The brisket and beef rib was less impressive.
This spot was suggested by a friend and it turned out to be pretty delicious!!! Had pork glazed ribs, so delicious. Probably the best ribs I have had in Texas. Brisket was awesome as well. Sides were pretty good : coleslaw and mac&cheese. Their BBQ sauce was similar to a sweet honey mustard bbq sauce pretty good as well.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: Yes
Nothing fancy here but it does offer some seriously good texan BBQ that melts in your mouth and at the same time tasting that smoke wood aroma on the meat. You go in, join the Q to the counter, order the type and amount of meats you want and then pay up. As simple as that. No additional charges or tips required unless you want to show your gratitude. Pick your food and find yourself a table and sink your teeth on those delicious meat.
The brisket and turkey are absolutely delicious! My friends also really enjoyed the jalapeño sausage and the bacon mac and cheese. The barbecue sauce is sweet, but still a great compliment to a chopped brisket sandwich. This place is a little pricey, especially since there are very limited side options. I was disappointed that I wasn't able to try the beans or the mac and cheese due to the addition of bacon. I will say, however, when I let the staff member helping me know I am allergic to pork, he made sure to wash the blade he used and placed a layer of butcher paper on the counter so there wouldn't be cross contamination. Dietary restrictions: The menu is not especially considerate of pork allergies, but the staff is very helpful.
Fantastic brisket and pork ribs. The jalapeño sausage and boudin were very good as well but didn’t shine like the brisket. I liked the beans which were perfectly seasoned but the slaw was a bit too dry for my taste. Highly recommended and I would definitely return.
We went in for lunch on a Sunday so it was quite crowded. We waited in line for about 20-30 minutes before being able to place our order and get seated. The decor of Pinkerton Barbecue gives Ranch vibes. It's very cozy and open. The bar is quite well placed too. We ordered 3 sides: jalapeno cheese rice, potato salad, and Mac n cheese. We got potato salad and Mac N cheese in large size and the Jalapeno cheese rice in small size. Both, the Mac n cheese and potato salad are to die for! Please try them. Absolutely the best we've ever had. For the mains, we got the brisket, pork ribs and a link of the Jalapeno cheese sausage. They were all delicious and we enjoyed them a lot. Their barbecue sauce especially adds much more flavor to everything. We're looking forward to buying their sauce on our next visit. The food is accompanied by slices of white bread, sliced onion, and pickles. Overall, I totally enjoyed the food at Pinkerton Barbecue. I'm glad I tasted brisket for the very first time at Pinkerton. I would say that the meal becomes quite heavy, but it's so tasty that it's difficult to stop. 5 stars!
There are great barbecue places in Houston. No doubt Houston knows the art of smoking and burning… everyone has their favorites too. No doubt this subject is considered taboo. My take, Pinkerton’s knows the voodoo of smoke, sauce and rubs. Before you lunch me like Dale’s and Karen’s do, just try their manic. You then may become a convert… enjoy.
We loved every square inch of this place! It was in the dead center of downtown San Antonio and it felt like we were at a small town mom and pop. The restaurant itself is darling and a great location but the food is the real star. We had to go back and order twice because our normally picky kids were eating it faster than we could put in front of them! We can't wait to be back. I got so distracted by the cute exterior, I forgot to take pics of the food! Kid-friendliness: Great green space for kids to run around and burn energy before sitting down to eat Dietary restrictions: Gluten free
This place is simply amazing. For those of you coming from out of town, it doesn't disappoint to deliver on solid Texas BBQ. The sauces are amazing. I didn't love the sides as much as other people do. But the ribs were absolutely unbelievable.Food: 5/5
