It’s either a very high 4 star review or a low five… love the pizza crust almost close to a European / Italian pizza. We are eating the pizza for 7 years there now and it’s solid - in Bocca lupo never disappoints. Some of the pizzas are just top and great, it some toppings really need some improvements and are sometimes inconsistent in their mix - therefore 4 stars.
Amazing pizza for a "walk-up" pizza place in San Pedro Square Market. We had the pesto pizza with smoked chicken and Joe's Special. The dough was expertly rolled and baked, thin and soft in the middle, brown and crispy on the edges. Pesto pizza offered a taste that lingered, and the smoked chicken was nice and tender. Joe's Special was tomato sauce w sausages, tomatoes and mozzarella. Both excellent for a total of $30! All pizzas are 12" "personal size". Parking: The San Pedro Square parking garage, run by the City of SJ, offers 90 minutes of free parking, which makes this place very accessible.
I'm by far the most critical about my pizzas. When someone promises Neapolitan Pizza, I'm looking forward to nothing but the real thing. I'm not any kind of food tasting expert, but can't rate this among the top places that make the style of pizza. Premium American pizzerias like Mountain Mike's, Roundtable, or even an aspiring Domino's. Neapolitan pizzerias use a specific oven, generally have a different flavor pallette, and are meant to be eaten on site. I can't honestly grade the pizza among my all-time list for this style, it's somewhere in the middle. On the upside, the location is great. San Pedro Square still packs in the people, and remains the center of activity in that area, something which was intentional in it's design. Overall, you should probably go just for the experience, but in the end, I'm always going to deliver my rating based on the pizza. Parking: There is a large lot right across the street, that's been the place people have pretty much always parked.
Super quick! I saw a sign saying orders can take 45 minutes but mine took less than 10. So be aware, during peak hours you might have to wait a while. Prices were good. Pizza was pretty good. Overall a good place to grab your own personal pizza
This is my 2nd favorite wood-fired pizza place. They’re located in San Pedro Square Market in downtown San Jose and their pizzas are fantastic. I love getting a margarita pizza and a bottle of Sangiovese. I’ve had about 4 different types of pizzas here and they have all been great. It’s a small but excellent menu.
SO GOOD! I came on a recommendation from a family member who visited years prior and said it was good. I went in and immediately knew this was going to be amazing, and it still blew my expectations out of the water. Dough is the best I've ever had at a restaurant, sauce is perfect, and the cheese charred from the authentic wood fired oven. 10/10 would recommend to anyone wanting authentic margarita pizza. It's ok. Not the best pizza for the price. The crust is pretty good--it's chewy, fluffy and packed with flavour. The toppings and sauce were a miss though. I either got bites with no flavour or extreme saltiness. Service is pretty quick though. Decent spot amongst the other places here.Food: 3/5
Amazing wood fired pizza and good service. They're pretty busy on weekends as this place is in the middle of many great bars and restaurants. The pesto pizza is perfect! They do have an outdoor seating where they had live music on Friday when I visited.Dine in: NoOutdoor seating: Yes
You have to try this pizza. It's amazing. The best in San Jose. The Quattro Formaggi is my favorite. Ask for a side of olive oil to dip the crust. OMG!!!! Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie pizza options.
Amazing pizza. Tried the chicken bacon . The crust itself was really tasty. I guess even margherita pizza would be great since tomato and cheese were great. Expect 45min wait on weekends, but you get a notification buzzer so you can roam around San Pedro market
