Always on my go-to Italian place list. I keep forgetting the name but what makes me keep coming back here is their pizza bunch of mushroom/cheese, the honey at the bottom of the dough. Sweet&salty never fails.
Yesterday I had de opportunity to try this place for the first time and I had a lovely lunchtime with great food and friendly service. I choose the patio area to enjoy the nice weather and the place didn't disappoint: the atmosphere is great, you can enjoy the fresh air in an open space without the sun in your eyes. I had: - Spritz Bianco 12 prosecco, limoncello, club soda, lemon wedge, rosemary- Peroni Nasto Azzurro Italian beer - Crostini Sampler perfect to try a little bit of everything - Melanzane panini Roasted eggplant, sweet red peppers, garlic, crimini mushrooms, thyme, rosemary & a melted 5 cheese blend on a toasted baguette- Prosciutto Calzone shredded mozzarella, whipped ricotta mixture, fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, arugula, EVOO, fresh romano, parsley. Everything was on point: temperature, flavor, texture, portions, and I'm still thinking about the dough's calzone with the different cheeses that I tasted. My advice: go to this place with extra time so you can have the whole experience without using your meal, and let yourself be indulged by the staff with their service and suggestions.
This place is my go-to for good wine, & a passionate & knowledgable staff! They're always helpful when I'm looking for a wine; whether to pair with a specific meal or just generally have around. No pretense. No boorish snobs. Just good people!
We got the BIGGEST charcuterie board along with our Pour Decisions beers!! PHENOMENAL!! Congratulations on the new spot
Joe and Michael's San Jose and Los Gatos Enoteca's are high quality destinations for great wines, great values and fun tasting experiences. Very friendly staff with sommeliers on site makes finding just the right wine easy and educational.
It was my first time in, and I was so surprised at how great this place is is! To start, our server let us sample the wines on the wine list before pouring, which was a fantastic way for us to decide which wine to pair with our food. I also liked that there was an option to choose a bottle out of their wine library. Our food was so delicious. We ordered off of their fixed price menu for Dine DTSJ week and my main course was the salmon, which was cooked so perfectly - crispy and caramelized on the outside and still juicy in the center. My boyfriend ordered the eggplant dish and it was delicious as well - he had no complaints. Also, our food came out nice and hot! We will definitely be returning.
Huge fan of this establishment - incredibly friendly staff and great wine selections. My husband and I are apart of their wine subscription club as well and that provides a discount on other wines in the store. Highly recommend!
Really great place for Italian bites and good wine selection. Service was great even though it got super busy for a Monday night. Would definitely go back and brings others. Casual atmosphere.
Blink and you might drive right past this place. So, take a drive into downtown SJ and venture into their Little Italy neighborhood, where you’ll find Enoteca La Storia; ELS, for those in the know. You’ll find a wine bar with excellent drinks and service Mario is an amazing bartender, comedian, and storyteller; delicious Italian food; and charm. The restaurant space was closed for a private event, but I can only imagine the energy of the dining crowd filling that space on a regular evening. Anyhow, take a chance on trying out ELS.
I ordered Wild mushroom Ravioli, it was good, but less quantity. Ambience was good, service was quick. Veg options available too.
