I've been holding off on reviewing this place because they briefly took a dive during the shutdown. Prior to the pandemic, Schmizza was consistently perfect. When the regular chefs were laid off, and the owner/manager stepped up to fill their spots, the quality slid sharply downhill. Worth noting: During the great toilet paper famine of 2020, it was really neighborly of them to provide a free roll with every pizza : But following my visit last night, and the two flawless slices they served up, I'm more than happy giving the 5 stars this place so righteously deserves.
The New owner Fernando has made some needed improvements to this locally owned Pizza Schmizza franchise. They have daily specials, and currently it’s just $7.50 for a slice of cheese/pep and a beer. They have happy hour all day Sunday. There bar is stocked with lots of beers on top and plenty of hard liquor. Also, there’s a few tables outside in their park-let, and a bench. You can eat inside or out, with bar service but no bar seating because of COVID-19. The atmosphere is casual, but they have a full menu with pizza, burgers, pasta, sandwiches, and salads. They also have some to-go beverages, along with growler fills.
I ordered a veggie pizza for delivery from here and honestly I was not disappointed at all. Crust was good, flavor was good but it was a little cold. Good pizza.
They ARE GREAT....the food is amazing from the pizza, chicken tenders, fries, onion rings... the staff is very handsome and the girls are pretty. A chill laid back environment, friendly service. And they mix drinks are to perfection.....if you know how the drink is made...or they will even google it to make sure its exactly what you want....BUT EVERYONE who works here is amazing
No one should be treated the way these employees get treated by the owner of this business. He used covid as an excuse to get rid of employees he didn't like without having to tell them. People sat at home for months thinking there would be a job for them at some point, but they were never going to be asked back. He replaced his front of house manager with some girl she was having relations with, and never told her. She had to be informed she didn't have a job by another employee. When that relationship quickly ended he also took the girls friend off the schedule without a word, because that's how much he avoids conflict. It's repulsive to hear you didn't pay your employees, but I'm not at all surprised.
We went for their Trivia night on Thursday from 7:30-9:30ish. The place was lively and the pizza was good. The staff does a great job in clearing the table of empty cups and plates as we drank and ate.
The pizza was awesome, took quite a while to get it but the drink service was fast to make up for it. I mean it should be since you have to go order your own drinks and such. But still, good food, good pours, great location.
The "veggie ranch" plate was very old, nearly rotting veggies that we could not eat. Is anyone checking quality in the kitchen?
Drink specials, trivia, games, karaoke, open mic? It's a great neighborhood place. Much more than I expected. And the pizza is damn good and the price is right.
Don’t go here. I ordered a Cobb salad and just got lots of lettuce, some avocados and tomatoes and a few olives, When I asked where the eggs, cheese, and meat were they said they were phasing out the Cobb salads and didn’t have those things. So why didn’t they tell me that when I ordered it??? No offer to refund, or replace the meal.
