Pizzeria Sul Lago
"Pizzeria sul Lago is Italian for “Pizzeria by the Lake”. In this case Lake Oswego, formerly a channel of the Tualatin River which scoured out and enlarged the old Oswego channel creating a scenic, natural lake.It seemed so appropriate to open a neighborhood pizzeria that brings an honest approach to Neapolitan-style pizza to such a beautiful setting. We are committed to our traditional pizza-making roots while drawing great focus from the Pacific Northwest bounty, which provides us with the opportunity to make delightful seasonal changes to our menu."

Shared two pizzas with a friend. White pizza and sausage/pepperoni. The white pizza had a good balance between it's flavors of pesto, garlic, ricotta and mozzarella. I felt the sausage pizza was a bit too strong with sausage flavor.
Our first time here was about a month ago and it was great. We happened to go in on a Monday night and found out that kids meals are half off on Monday night. Cool! We all had pizza and it was good! Fast forward a month, we have guests visiting us and we took them here last night, another Monday night. It was a very different experience. Our server was named Olivia and she seemed new because every question we asked, she needed to go ask someone else what the answer was. That's fine, I get it and it wasn't a problem! But we had to ask for silverware 3 times, menus, kids menus, crayons, etc, all individually. We were told that the menu is via QR code but were offered paper versions because our guests were older and preferred the paper format. Also, we wanted the paper kids' menus so they could do the puzzles & coloring while we waited. We were also told tonight that kids meals are no longer half off on Monday nights, btw. Whatever, bummer, specials change apparently. Fast forward, our guests received the wrong pizza and had to wait a while to have theirs remade which upset them. The final insult was when the bill came, we got overcharged on both kids' pizzas and our guests' pizza. We'd been expecting to pay $5 for each kid meal, then when the special was off, we expected $10 per meal as written on the menu, but we were billed $11 per meal. I brought this to Olivia's attention and she told me no, $11 is correct. I showed her the paper menu stating $10 --- not that $2 is a big deal to us, but I really didn't appreciate being argued with when I was correct. See my attached photo of one of my kids' menus She said the online menu says $11 and they don't usually give out the paper menus. ***It's a kid menu with puzzles though - why wouldn't you give this out??*** I told her the paper menu should have the same prices as the online one and she agreed and said she'd send an email to somebody about it. After receiving the wrong pizza, our guests who were frankly expecting a discount for having the wrong item brought and having to wait were overcharged $2 to add spinach to their pizza, when it was supposed to be included per both menus and we double checked this with Olivia when we were ordering it. I also brought this overcharge to Olivia's attention and she said it looks weird on the bill, but it adds up correctly. If that was true, the pizza would cost $19.25, which we all knew was not the case. See attached photo for the item on the menu - the red arrow points to what they ordered vegan sausage and spinach pizza, which is $17.25. Overall, we had a really negative experience here. Olivia's response was very much no, you're wrong. But we weren't wrong, going by the menus we were given. She was misinformed or the menus don't all agree, either way, we should have been charged by what we were looking at! Olivia finally agreed that we were overcharged for the kids' meals but said she'd "have to go upstairs to have them override it" or something. I wasn't going to go nuts over $2 so I said no, that's not needed. And I didn't want to have to get a paper menu again or scan the QR code, look up my guests' meal on the spot, and argue that too. I found it very unprofessional, when usually at a restaurant, a server will just go oops, lemme change that. Including the disappearing kids' meal special, we paid $14 more than we expected here. We went in specifically for that special. I get it, specials apparently change. I tried to look it up on the website beforehand but there's conflicting info on there talking about meatball Mondays, then other places saying there's no specials, so I assumed the website was not current. To be clear, we didn't go to this place to rip anybody off or haggle over prices! We just wanted to go have a meal and have fun together. It's too bad, because we actually all liked the food. But I don't think we'll be going back here, unfortunately. If it was a simple mistake that would have been sorted out, that would have been ok. But the service was subpar and we were argued with repeatedly.
Pizzas were delicious. My son said it was the best pizza he’s ever had. My daughter thought the spaghetti and meatballs were too spicy but I thought they were perfect! The fried donuts were great too! Trevor was super friendly and took great care of us.
Pizzeria Sul Lago in Lake Oswego, Oregon was a delightful date night with some friends and we were thrilled with the service and the recommendations from their staff! Their pizzas had inventive and delicious toppings like purple potato and prosciutto with their homemade cheeses. Their fried cauliflower was amazing and their salads were bright and fresh!! We will be back soon to try some more of their delicious food! And General Manager, Scott, was kind enough to stop by as well to see how we were doing!! And... you cannot beat the setting!
Everything was edible, nothing was bad, nothing was great. But the kids could be loud which was nice. They were really busy so that might have had something to do with it. Also, I asked the waiter for bread while we waited, he offered breadsticks, then didn’t bring them out until after we finished eating our meal and they were burnt. The best part, he charged us for them. We still tipped well since we figure they could use it, but probably something to consider. Also charged $11.50 per kid pizza, and they’re listed as $10 on the menu. It was only $3 difference between the two, but with the breadsticks, that was an extra $10
First time trying this place and I'm not happy. We got take out and the pizza was just warm when we picked it up 5 minutes after the time we were given to grab it, so we had to reheat in the oven. My pizza was made with the wrong sauce I requested red sauce, they made it with ? Not sure garlic maybe, it didn't taste like anything and most of the pizza is just crust - pictured. The other pizza was at least covered. Both crusts were lacking and quite soggy and doughy in the middle and didn't have any flavor. The fried mozzarella was great, fresh cheese and good flavor and still warm when we got home, so that's a plus. But with all that and spending $48 on it I definitely won't be going back. Hopefully others have a better experience than I did.
Still good, but different than what it was 3 years ago, or even last year. The size of the pizza is slightly smaller perhaps they were generously sized before. Still a fun place to sit outside and enjoy the weather and people watch. Service is usually excellent. Green star for using paper straws and compostable to-go containers. 10/3 price increase means a basic margherita pizza is now $17... No thank you.
I would go here anytime!!! The pizza is delicious and the service is solid. They usually have a featured pizza and they are often creative options that I wouldn’t otherwise try. The prices are reasonable. The pizza is wood fired as well!
We came in for my birthday dinner. Ordered beet salad and order of meat balls both very good. Main dish chicken Alfredo and current special pizza sausage speck mushroom lemon . Chicken Alfredo was flavor less. Pizza just tasted like sweet lemon that over powered all the toppings. Very disappointed. Was not worth the cost.
Decent wood pizza- nothing special. The salads are tiny aNd expensive. The beet salad had a few leaves of greens, 3 thin beet slices, a few hazelnuts. It could have fit in palm of my hand and was $14… ripoff even by LO’s overpriced standards
