Planned Pethood Plus

About

Dedicated to improving companion animal welfare through safe, effective, sterilization, veterinary training and humane education.

Story

Spay it Forward was Colorado’s first truly affordable mobile spay/neuter program. Started by Dr. Jeffrey Young the president of Planned Pethood Plus Inc. (PPP) and the non-profit branch of PPP Inc. known as Planned Pethood International (PPI) a 501-c3 organization. PPI provides affordable spay/neuter and education to children and young adults about the human-companion animal bond.

The long term goal of Spay It Forward is to educate people, especially children how to show compassion toward animals. We aim to train veterinarians and future veterinarians who will build animal hospitals that will participate in new animal welfare programs in their community.

PPI fosters relationships that provide each and every community it serves with individual ownership of the program. In essence, PPI will provide education, affordable spay/neuter services, and training to new and practicing veterinarians on how to successfully start and maintain affordable veterinary hospitals and/or mobile clinics.

We believe strongly that people who show compassion to animals show more to their fellow human beings.

Mission

To significantly reduce pet overpopulation and suffering of companion animals by offering affordable common sense veterinary medicine to everyone. We are a full service affordable quality care clinic for companion animals. We believe that everyone should be able to afford medical care for their pet. PPI offers exams, vaccinations, spay/neutering and full surgical services. PPI also offers low cost spay/neuter clinics throughout North America, veterinarian training and adoptable rescued animals.

I did not expect them having a few week old puppies. That was a great surprise. I feel in love with these siblings immediately. The workers were nice, let me hold the puppies, and suggested to fill out the form if I’d like to adopt some of the puppies. I went online, did fill up the form but unfortunately haven’t heard back from anyone till now. It’s been few weeks. Too bad.
I love that you do rescue around the states. You have a good heart you and your staff. In time if I can is to move to Colorado. But I'm on a budget myself. I have cockatiel, African Grey Parrot, a Sun Concur, Poodle mixed, a Tabby cat 18 yrs old.
April 1,2022 I drove my dog to Denver for her eye removal surgery at PPI. The surgery was successful. Michelle in the front office was very kind and answered all of my questions. She was reassuring and followed up with me after surgery. Prices are within a given price range, although won’t be broken down for clarity there was some misinformation although Michelle did work with me some and I appreciated that. I would have given 5 stars but, unfortunately, didn’t get all my antibiotics gave three pills instead of 21 and they weren’t open again for two days and I live in Colorado Springs. They did not return my message. Fortunately, I had a veterinarian friend who was able to fill the prescription in Colorado Springs the same day so my dog didn’t miss a dose that could have been bad. I recommend checking meds before you leave the office. Michelle did call a few days after to see how my dog was doing then informed her of the antibiotic issue and my message but it was already resolved. I did appreciate her call. It has been 8 months since surgery and she has healed great and is doing well. I’m thankful for the successful surgery and her great recovery. Overall a good experience and I would recommend them.
Been going here since 2003,way before they were on tv. My favorite vet is Dr. Baier, although I’m sure that the others are good too. But Dr.Baier is patient and will take the time to explain everything that you need to know about your dogs health. Also love the ladies working in the store, Susan and .Shani. Both are knowledgeable and they do a wonderful job taking care of the dogs and cats that are available for adoption.
I brought my 6 y/o pitbull here a few days ago knowing she needed emergency hysterectomy surgery after developing pyometra. All of the staff was very helpful and They thankfully got her right in and her 3 day stay was affordable, and I was kept up to date with how she was doing. She was returned to me healthy and clean and with her nails clipped which was an added plus. They are a busy clinic because they are dealing with emergencies - In person is the best way to be seen! I’m very thankful that they were able to save my dog! Thank you.
******WE SURVIVED PARVO******* Thank you planned hood and all staff for saving my boy and dealing with a over caring pet parents I did have mixed feeling about this place and it was me just freaking out about my boy. you just have to trust them they care about our babies. my boy is home and comfortable on his California king size bed after 12 days hospitalized any where else I would have have to sign my house over to them so the pricing is affordable and if you cant afford they will give you a list of places to help thank you for saving my baby Planned pethood is the best
Just adopted our puppy a month and a half ago. Today we took her to another clinic to get her fully vaccinated. About an hour later she had a pretty extreme allergic reaction. We had not establish care with a veterinarians office and didn’t know where we could take her. We have been trying to establish care with planned pet hood for sometime now so we decided to take her there. Within 30 minutes our puppy was seen treated and we were able to walk out the door. No problems. Not only did we receive fast and excellent care, the price of service was incredible! I have never been to such a low cost clinic that provided the level of care we received. We were so impressed we scheduled her spay and officially established care. Thank you guys so much!
You really can’t beat the savings offered here. It’s so amazing to have affordable pet care. However, there are some drawbacks. The staff is not friendly or engaged whatsoever. It also took me two months to get an appointment simply because I couldn’t get a response of any kind for over a month. I understand not having available appointments until far out, but not ever answering the phone or returning calls is just simply unacceptable. Hopefully they can turn that around, then it’ll be perfect!
The staff at Planned Pethood is wonderful. I always enjoy our visits there. They are very busy, so it is best to stop in if you need to be seen. The vaccine clinic on Saturdays is such a great service. Overall a good experience every time.
