The food was prompt. The waitress was nice and courteous. The shrimp omelet was okay. I actually ate the steak omelet and I was not satisfied. It lacked flavor and was bland. The shrimp omelet had a lot of shrimp. The hash browns are really potato spuds. They also lacked flavor. The biscuits were dry and the gravy did not have flavor. The atmosphere was authentic and that is what I love and miss about many restaurants. The restaurant is called "Please-U" but I was not pleased.
Hole in the wall diner had a good breakfast and friendly service. My friend ordered a western omlet with hash browns and toast. I had eggs, ham steak, grits and toast. The food was hot, delivered in a reasonable time frame and tasty. Added a little salt and pepper to the grits and they were perfect! We will definitely be back. Photo is halfway through the meal.
Waitress was very sweet! Told us about the specials! Got our order right! This is a small hole in the wall diner! But I will say portions are very good and they are friendly! We were from out of town looking for a quick bite but got very good service!!
Absolutely no sausage in the gravy for biscuits and gravy, and biscuits were dry and cold. When we came in, there was one other table. We placed our order and then 20+ people came in. Our food sat in the back for minutes before brought to us I saw it when I went to walk they the kitchen to go to the restroom and it was cold.
Very much a hole in the wall place. Has a high rating so we gave it a try. Unfortunately our food was not very good. 3 of my 4 pieces of French toast were undercooked. The grits were not seasoned. The place overall looked like it needed a good cleaning.
The staff is awesome!! The food is mediocre- the food was cooked at to high a temp. The sausage was good so to make our gravy taste good we chopped it up and added to to the bland gravy. We will not eat there again.
A great place for breakfast. Large portions. Great coffee and the food was delicious. Some of the best service I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommended.
Worse food I’ve had in New Orleans. Nothing seasoned, lumpy grits. Not sure what that was that they called gravy. The biscuit was equally as bad & they must have been very old. Could not eat the food. The eggs were good but the sausage was pre-cooked frozen sausage, not fresh. Would not recommend. Service, however was good…that’s how they got two stars.
A solid no-frills spot for a bite at a reasonable price. The shrimp and oyster poboys are very good. The hot sausage poboy was alright but unremarkable. I'd skip the gumbo if I were you. It's overly thick and the shrimp flavor is overpowering. I didn't have anything here that's not better somewhere else, but there are plenty of places that do it worse too.
Possibly the worst breakfast I've ever been served in a restaurant. A texturized vegetable protein filled puck with watery ham gravy was supposed to be chicken fried steak. An inedible grease mound of some leftover potato product was supposed to be hash browns. Even the poached eggs were a mess. Server was nice. Didn't ask "how is everything" probably because she knew the answer would not be good. I would steer clear. Those recently released from prison would probably want to go back. Kitchen and bathroom filthy. Restaurant, filthy. Plave needs to shut down, deep clean and paint and hire a few people who can cook. Start over with a smaller menu so you can afford to serve fresh food.
