If you have the chance to visit Island Cafe, I highly recommend you do. We sat outside for dinner on the water and it was fabulous! Had the shrimp cocktail and stuffed avocado for starters, the lobster wrap as an entree and finished it off with the most amazing key lime pie ever! The staff was absolutely top notch! I tried 3 different cocktails and I must say the black peral was my favorite! Long Island ice tea with black cherry and maybe razzmatazz. Probably one of my favorite top 10!
Just found this place today and we loved it! Perfect place to eat some lunch on a nice sunny summer day. The food was great was well. I highly recommend the fish tacos and the shrimp cocktail. Tasty cocktails as well, the wife loved her coconut mojito.
Great time at the Island Cafe! The service was excellent. The food was excellent! The beer was excellent! And the location is awesome! I had the fish and chips. The Boss had the BBQ pork sandwich. Both were really really good. The added bonus is that it’s dog friendly so Elvis had a good time too. Highly recommend.
We were out on a boat just cruising the river and ran across this hidden gem of a place that I didn't even know was here. Food was great, drinks were strong, and the service was even better. I'd love to say I'll be back, but to get to it from where we live is an awfully long way because there's no entrance from the East, and you have to come in from I-5 at Jantzen Beach. If you get a chance, you should definitely try this place...
The Island Cafe is a fun and very pretty place to eat. It is on a pier right on the Columbia river. You can eat inside or outside. We ate outside on the pier. It was nice watching the boats go by and looking at the pretty house boats across the river. At one point a duck walked past us and some of the diners through him fries. Most of their food was really good, but I had the lobster and seafood wrap. It was not what I was expecting. I did not see or taste any lobster. It was like they made it in a blender. It tasted more like salt than anything else. I think it had more mayo than seafood. But my granddaughter had the chicken and it was a whole chicken breast and it was very good. So was the food that the others I was with had. Wheelchair accessibility: It is not wheelchair accessible. You must go up and down a very steep ramp. Unless you arrive by boat on the river. I am not in a wheelchair but I was a little worried that I wouldn't make it back up that steep ramp.
Amazing, floating restaurant on Hayden Island with water and boat views. Their menu has a lot of variety with reasonable prices. Staff are friendly and attentive. We split the ahi tuna sandwich with fries and lobster roll with curried macaroni salad, and left full and happy. Definitely recommend!
Great dinner! So many good selections on the menu that I have a hard time making a decision! I love what I got! I love the outdoors seating with the river view. And their home-made keylime pie was the best!!! Amazing service ! I will definitely come back to try other items on the menu!
Just don’t. Drinks were strong but clearly made from sugary mixes. I was brought the wrong drink, it was remedied quickly. Ceviche was so sad, half liquid, shrimp pieces and mostly onions. Tons of leftover chips. Kids left saying “we’re hungry” because they refused the cardboard chicken strips and corn dogs. The ahi tuna salad was also so sad. The tuna was not seared or seasoned, I couldn’t cut it atop it’s bed of limp lettuce, four slices of tomato and cucumber and canned black olives. Asked for salad dressing twice and it never came. It was inedible so I sent the dish back, which I always feel bad doing. So… I also left hungry. Husband had the halibut fish tacos and said they were underwhelming and dry. Extra tartar sauce helped make them go down easier. I don’t understand all these 5 star reviews!! This place is truly awful.
We like the outdoor dining experience here, on the floating dock, with breezy air. The seafood is super fresh with reasonable price. The spicy wings are not that spicy, even kids will like them. Don't miss the slightly seasoned fries, better than many other restaurants.
It is very fun here! Perfect on a nice day. Fish and chips I got curry Mac salad instead of fries. The other is the island turkey sandwich also with the curry Mac salad.
