The Polk County Heritage Gallery is a 501(c)(3) organization and is funded solely through entry fees received from gallery-sponsored competitions, gallery rentalfees paid by artists, private donations, and by contributions made by Gallery visitors. The Gallery is also funded in part by grants from Bravo Greater Des Moines and from the Polk County Board of Supervisors.
Gallery hours are 11:00 to 4:30, Monday through Friday. Admission is free.

The mission of the Polk County Heritage Gallery is to provide a multi-use exhibition space for artistic and historical exhibits, to provide a unique facility contributing to the cultural development of Des Moines and Polk County, and to complement existing educational and cultural institutions.
