Ponderosa Cyclery + Tour

Every time I visit Ponderosa Cyclery I know I'm going to have a good experience/conversation/laugh with the sincerest of people. Vince and his growing crew know their stuff and are more concerned with making sure their customers are paired with the right bikes/service rather than trying to upsell any unnecessary accessories like most of the other shops I’ve visited in town. They are always a joy to work with and also coordinate many bike camping trips and rides throughout the year. Whether you’re an Omaha native or just visiting, this is the bike shop you want to visit.

Purchased a Surly Disc Trucker from this shop. Had it shipped, they did an excellent job packing the bike, minimal assembly required. Fantastic bike to own and ride, this bike was hard to find but this place had it in stock in exactly my size.

Just picked up a salsa beargrease and a surly ice cream truck. Super easy to work with Vince. Help the wife make a decision since she never had a bike before. Have a decent selection in the store but can get bike you want in short order. I knew what I wanted so I didn't put the shop through the paces trying a bunch of bikes. I did like the easy-going atmosphere. Competitive pricing. Looking forward to spending more time there.

The Owner of the shop/main mechanic are very rude. Felt like I was being talked down to the whole time interacting with that individual. The rest of the shop was cool, but that person ruined the whole thing.

They know a lot about bikes, have great stuff at good prices, and their dog is nice. Can’t wait for the winter to sit next to the warm fireplace in the shop.

Snagged some stuff here over the years, great folks. I’ve got a shop on the other coast, but if I lived anywhere in Nebraska, this would be my shop, for sure!

These people are fair, honest, knowledgeable and not out to make as much from you as possible. I took my highly neglected trail bike in for a tune-up along with an old touring bike my granddaughter wanted to have refurbished. Vince fixed my bike up great for a reasonable charge. He told me he could fix up the touring bike for my granddaughter for one price; however, he felt her needs and body type would be better served by another option with a bike better suited to what she would be using it for on a college campus. He arranged to have us look at another bike which we could purchase and have fixed up cheaper than refurbishing the touring bike. My granddaughter did like it better and it cost me less money. Vince was just being straightforward and honest even though it made him less money. I had never met anybody from this shop before we went there. I highly recommend it and we will return with any future business. Thanks, Vince!

Vince was very helpful with my situation. I found just my frame locked to my porch one morning and went to get a quote from a couple shops. Vince took time to price it out for me and give me a quote. He was straightforward with me about cost and turnaround time. I came back the following week and he remembered me and turned my bad luck into a great bike shop experience. Highly recommend!
