For the past eight years I've been delighted with the unbelievable service and expertise The Pool Service Company has provided me. It is important to mention that I went through a half dozen pool contractors before I met Charlie McMahon. I would recommend The Pool Service Company to my family and friends without hesitation "Thank God for Charlie and his great employees".

Pool Service Company has been bad. Missed or delayed service happened. A different technician came to look at the pool and said that the Alkaline level was at zero, and the pH level was off. The pool water was so bad that algae started forming. We had to try to repair the situation ourselves, and when we asked about the chemicals that needed to be provided, we were instead asked why we didn't have the chemicals ourselves. This is unacceptable. We hire the company to provide the service, the company charges for "time and materials", and in this case, aren't "materials" chemicals as well?
Because of the delayed/missed/unsatisfactory service, we were unable to use the pool for 16 days. We had to get our own chemicals to try to use the pool with no use. We have missed swimming lessons for the kids because of the inability to use. In all, much more money was spent due to the lacking service. This made us cancel and simply asked for a refund for the month the service was particularly bad. We were not getting that refund.
We were on a monthly payment plan. When we called, they said the July payment would be voided. We made June and July's payment together, so expected July payment to be refunded per their way, which was a fraction of the July payment we made. We were simply paying month to month. If one month is to be refunded, that month's payment should be returned.
Every time service is delayed, the excuse is that they have over 1700 accounts. Maybe they need to take on less if they can't handle the scheduling.
When we called to complain, the person hung up the phone and did not pass to the President of the company, who, by the way, we were told is the person we needed to speak with to resolve this situation. The President of the company cited policy and was firm in his decision to not return the full payment. This was not about the money. They just did not want to work with us, despite knowing the result of their lack of service. This entire situation has been terrible. We do not recommend.

Poolservice technicians demolished my filter valve last year (2016) during the closing, and never told me about it. I found the damaged equipment myself and had to ask them to repair it -- as if they didn't know that a filter needs a working valve. This year (2017) there was a hazmat poison gas event during acid washing that poisoned my garden. I've lost my entire herb collection and dozens of 30 year old rare peonies. I had been a Poolservice customer since the 90's but it's really gone down hill in the last couple of years. I wish I could add photos of the damage, it's astonishing.

Asked to have my pool open in May while I was away traveling so it would be ready in time for a backyard party upon my return. The technician came 2 or 3 different times and never completed the task. I returned to a green pool that had not been vacuumed. I was charged $900 for "opening" the pool.

This used to be the best company in terms of customer service and response. What happened? I've used them since 2009 but now they don't return phone calls asking for an estimate. Four phone calls and one email and still waiting
