Quiet coffee bar in the cute vintage lobby of a hotel. Comfortable and chill seating options. Nice breakfast foods. Coffee was really not great.Food: 1/5
Parking was easy, which is hard to come by downtown Detroit, I came in at 7:30 AM though. The atmosphere inside is a stunning mix of antique and modern, however there wasn’t much comfort in the seating options. I ordered a hazelnut latte with oat-milk which was made very tasty and with latte art which I appreciated! I also ordered a croissant and a raspberry muffin, and I honestly wasn’t the biggest fan. They tasted very stale and dry, even after being heated up. I wasn’t looking forward to each bite of the croissant after I tried it, and I ate less than half of the muffin. The barista however, I believe her name was Taylor, was very personable and friendly! She provided excellent customer service and brought the food to my seat and was very positive considering how early it was! Overall, I may come back for just a coffee and the great service at one point, but I wouldn’t make a trip specifically for this place, I may just stop by every now and then. Parking: Street parking available! It was 7:30 am though, so decent chances I’d find parking.
Welcome to one of the little unique places that make Detroit so great. The Siren Cafe is tucked into the lobby of the Siren Hotel and both are tastefully fine. The coffee and service are excellent. It is a treat to either drink your coffee in the stuffed chairs in the lobby or drop your laptop at the community table and enjoy coffee and a scone. I head to the Siren at least once a month. It makes me feel great about our city.
Wow. Incredible vibe. The hotel looks sick too! My coffee was great and my tomato basil croissant was super good. Great music and incredibly cozy with tons of seating.
First time to Populace, wasn’t disappointed by what we saw! Customer service wasn’t the typical barista experience very quiet but quick and attentive! The Chai latte with oat milk was spot on with sweetness and spice the latte wasn’t anything crazy but I will say totally worth the stop!
Nice place to drink coffee and relax. I ordered Latte but wan’t that good. I took mice pictures. I hope you like them
The atmosphere is the best! I love getting a cappuccino and bread in the morning from them and spend some time in the siren hotel's lobby. The flavor that comes through perfectly foamed milk is unforgettable. Baristas are always helpful.
Coffee was OK, but a proper cappuccino has foam.. and 5USD+ is hefty.
Coffee is excellent, but the barista in the mornings is quite rude. I've stayed at the hotel several times and work quite early on the table that is on the lobby. She mistreats people. They should find someone that is a "morning person" to deal with this... and forget about asking for something that they don't have... she gets quite feisty... not only with me but with other people that are staying at the hotel.
This is the best coffeeshop downtown! I love the location in the gorgeous lobby of the Siren Hotel. There are several cute and cozy seating areas to enjoy your beverage throughout the lobby. Their cold coffee is amazing and I've enjoyed several lattes crafted by their expert baristas.
