These guys were just what I was looking for when I had a couple of old power amps I wasn’t sure were worth repairing. They repaired one super cheap and gave me honest advice about the other one for FREE! The other shops have unfair bench fees, and often hit you with surprises, and will sometimes hold your gear hostage. These guys will tell you how much you are going to spend before it’s too late, and in many cases, give you a FREE estimate instead of gouging you for a bench fee that might be almost as much as your piece of gear is worth. They might be a bit slow getting your gear fixed being a small operation and having lots of work to do, but from my experience, all repair shops are slow unless you pay rush fees which they do have. These guys are the best, hands down! Cool dudes, family run, and totally fair!
Great shop and even better proprieter. I have had many vintage pieces of audio equipment repaired and restored by Todd. Always willing to discuss options and figure out the best course of action for a specific item. He, and his son Dylan, were even more adept and fixing up my vintage Fender Bandmaster and making it sound better than it ever has. Please support this new shop and welcome Todd to the Portland audio enthusiast community.
Had an effects loop added to my Fender Bassbreaker, Todd did an amazing job. Friendly service, was even willing to take the time to explain the mechanics. If you need modifications or repairs this is the place to go!
A year or so back my beloved Soundeluxe U195 mic had developed the dreaded 'waterfall' sound in the condenser. These U195s were uniquely built back in the late 90s with a fairly unusual approach. Fifteen years later, it's not easy to find people who "get" the design. But after a few recommendations, I took it to Pro Audio, and they did a fantastic job with the repair. They were also excellent with communication, estimates, pickup, everything. It's a father/son shop, you don't walk in expecting some perfect customer service experience. You go in hoping they're the kind of super-knowledgable music gear lovers who've got the experience and creativity to fix the most esoteric of musical electronics problem. Portland Pro Audio is that place. I highly recommend them.
Awesome new shop in an industrial part of town, owned and operated by father/son. Came here to fix my audio interface I use for home recording. Dropped it off, and they called me back within a few days and had it fixed. Great folks, super friendly and supportive.
Great repair shop. These dudes know what's up. The negative reviews here are laughable. As someone who also has owned a repair business, I picked my jobs and my clients. Some people just don't get it. Be cool and people will help you. If you're a self important idiot, no one is going to give you the time of day.
Todd is the man...he has fixed multiple pieces of our gear and has decades of experience from working in L.A. during the glory days of the music industry. I work with a lot of boutique analog hardware and he has experience with pretty much all of it...tape machines, vintage reverbs, synthesizers, et cetera. Recommended.
Damn I just called this place to ask a question... I’m sure they do good work, but... Basically, I had a question about something I’m trying to fix myself. He pretty much just told me off saying they do professional repairs and to just have a go at it, then hung up on me. Didn’t even try to answer my question. I know he has no obligation to answer a question to help me out, but he was just rude. He could have just suggested I bring it in so he can have a look. Then possibly gained a new customer...
