I was worried about staying at this hotel after reading some of the reviews. Staying in this historic hotel ended up being fantastic. The location is great, allowing you to walk to many restaurants and shopping. We even were able to catch a movie. all of the staff was great and the room was quite comfortable. I really would like to call out Liz, the Certified Bourbon Steward who customized a tasting flight for me and was an absolute delight to talk to. Both my husband and I said we would go back to this hotel just for her! We also enjoyed the other dining options on the property.
The Portland Regency is by far the best hotel in Portland in my opinion. I have been to most of the hotels in the area and this hotel 3 times, 3 different room types and each stay was phenomenal. The moment you enter the hotel the Valet, staff, accommodations, restaurants, Spa and just all around atmosphere is worth 5+ stars. I travel with a service dog and this hotel is by far the most welcoming place to him as well. Dog friendly hotel The Ironside Whisky Lounge is a great place to relax and the bartender Liz is extremely knowledgeable with the extensive whisky offerings they havesome very hard to find offerings. If you don't like whiskey this lounge is sure to turn you into a whiskey fan The Spa is incredibly relaxing with outstanding spa servicesPeppermint Pain Relief Massage was so relaxing and the daily relaxing hot tub trips make you want to live in the spa. The Garden Cafe has a great offering of food and drinks in a very relaxing outdoor setting. The room service is fast and extremely tasty as well. The hotel rooms especially the last one I stayed in Studio West with a balcony was incredibly comfortable. The large patio was a very nice place to relax and have a drink and the wet bar was a great addition to have in a room.
Clean and quiet. It was nice that we didn’t hear noises from other rooms. The front desk staff is super nice and offered to take pictures of us in front of the beautiful tree in the lounge! The shuttle was super nice to have too on a snowy night. Thanks so much!Rooms: 4/5
We enjoyed our stay and the amenities were very good. The location could not be better for walking the Old Port district. This is a great historic property and well operated. The worst part is the price of over $500/night for a standard king on a lower floor. Especially when you find out that you can stay here for $150/night in the off season of late fall when the lobsters are still very plentiful. I would not try to combine a Portland visit during leaf-peeping season again.
The location is excellent. The lounge was all you needed from a local. The hotel disappointed. Not 4 stars. No coffee maker in the room. Free coffee in the lobby. Worst coffee ever. We were there over Xmas and made a reservation for brunch at their restaurant. Again, the coffee. The food could have been nice but, ours was served on really cold plates. Cold eggs florentine kinda warm not a great bang for the buck. Not 4 stars. Staff was friendly.
Absolutely fabulous! Room was exactly what was advertised. Amenities are great. Check out the spa as well. This hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the old port. Within walking distance of everything you need to see!Rooms: 5/5
The room was very clean. The breakfast very good and the one dinner that we had was excellent. In a very good location, close to the main sites. Would love to stay there again.Rooms: 4/5
Old world atmosphere, Walnut appointments throughout, on site spa, bar. 2 restaurants. Great area for shopping. Great staff and service. Every request met with smiles and helpful information.Kyle gets an A Plus.Rooms: 5/5
I would not recommend staying here . Great location. Staff was pleasant, Valet was excellent . The room was just OK. The TV kept freezing. In my opinion not worth it for what you pay.Rooms: 3/5
Had a great single-night stay. Was a bit concerned when we easily heard footsteps above, but they didn’t last. Valet attendants and staff in eighteen95 were especially good.
