I love old hardware stores like Potts. The accumulated knowledge and wisdom will never be found in the big blue box or the big orange box stores. I needed a specialty key cut and it was done quickly, at a most reasonable price and worked flawlessly. This is the store your dad hung out at and found what he needed plus answers to questions before google and you tube existed. This was back in the day when men fabricated parts and rebuilt things to keep them running instead of throwing them out to buy a new one or calling a repairman. Support local businesses like Potts and enjoy the people and the service while it’s still there.
Great old school hardware store, I have worked with Jeff on things like custom signs, key duplicates and lock sets re keyed. He is knowledgeable, friendly and will go out of his way to help a customer regardless of the size of the sale.
Great bunch of guys. Knowledgeable and quick to assist.
Old style, friendly hometown hardware store. If you need help figuring out how to fix that problem, or the product necessary, the staff here will willingly assist you & if they don't have the solution, will suggest where or who can provide the solution. There's a negative review posted 4 years ago. Some people just like to complain. Based on my experiences over 30+ years of shopping here, I think the person that wrote the review would be unhappy if someone gave him a million bucks, no strings attached.
The gentlemen behind the counter were very friendly and helpful. Made sure I knew exactly what I had and how to use it. Even told me how to fix something.
Excellent personel service and selection of nuts and bolts. No other hardware in town had 6 inch hanger bolts and these guys had a supply. I had called ahead to confirm they had them, and when I arrived they were waiting for me at the check out. Great old-school hardware store.
They always help you when you go into the store the only thing you have to do is ask him what you want I know where to pick it up at I have been going into distal a long time half the Time Warner traffic is at
This is just a wonderful hardware store; the ambience is welcoming with its cool breeze through the open doors and helpful staff eager to assist without being condescending. Feels like a familiar shop in a small town and they were the only hardware store big or small in all of Charlotte who carried the drain opener product I needed.
I went here to get a new key to replace one that I had recently broken. Turns out the key wasn't the issue the lock was busted. Matt helped get the busted lock off and was super nice about it. Stuff like this is why I try to support local business.
Best old school hardware stoe EVER! If you need an item or advise this is the place to go. I drive across town from Mint Hill just to use these guy's. the "big box" stores can never compete with this little mom and pop hardware store.
