I have bought this bread for my family for as many years as I can remember. All other breads at the local grocery stores could not be compared to how wonderful & delicious this bread was. We immediately knew something was different even looking at our beloved bread : it looked light and airy and softer ...just like all the other breads! Then we tasted the new recipe & indeed it indeed tasted like all the other generic breads on the shelves! : It use to be hearty and have crunch and was just thick old fashioned dense bread packed with flavor! We all feel like crying! Ahhh say it isn’t so! Does anybody know if the company has sold out? It looks like the bread is not being distributed in Utah anymore but to someone out of state. I only wish the new company would see what a huge following this bread has and go back to the original recipe! If they don’t go back to their old recipe I will have to start searching elsewhere : I would hope that the creators of this bread would leave a message for their bread fans out there on their site explaining what happened exactly. Breakfast will never be the same! Sad day...
I have been purchasing your wheat bread for years because it was made with whole grain and had so few ingredients. I knew it was the healthiest option for my family. It felt like we were eating delicious, home-baked bread. The texture and flavor were divine!! I noticed today that you’ve changed the recipe adding enriched flour and other fillers. Your bread is no longer special. It’s just like every other bread out there. I’m so disappointed I could cry. Please consider going back to the original recipe. It was far superior!!
Their 9 Grain crunch bread was to die for. Toasted up great, had some weight to it, delicious!. That was before the recipe change, now it tastes just as awful as every other bland Grain loaf on the store shelf. Unless they bring back the original recipes, I'll never buy another Prairie Grain bread. Sad Days :
As a few people have already stated, whatever you have changed recently with your bread, STOP!!! I'm sure you changed it to prolong the shelf life, but it does not taste the same at all. I bought your bread because it tasted like fresh baked bread without all the filler and preservatives. Now it tastes like all the other wheat breads out there. Please go back to the old recipe.
I never thought I was picky about bread until I moved away and Prairie Grain Bread was not available in local supermarkets. What's best about their bread is limited and SIMPLE ingredients. Living in a big city, you'd think bread options would be limitless, but nothing I have tried in stores even come close in comparison to Prairie Grain. I'm a customer for life!
I don't live in Utah, but one of the highlights of coming to Utah was to buy this delicious Prairie Grain Bread. I even took a suitcase full home with me. Last week I was so excited to buy some of this delicious bread as soon as we arrived. I got a piece out and toasted it and bit into it and thought, "I must have Covid-19. There is something seriously wrong with my taste buds!!!" I even went and got a COVID test. The beautiful texture was even wrong. Then my husband and I looked at the label and the bread had a lot of extra ingredients. I hope you bring the original recipe back or at least release it to the public so I can make the bread at home. I will not be buying this bread again until the label says "original recipe" as it currently tastes like any other bread. Time to break out the bread making skills.
My husband and I absolutely love the Whole Wheat Bread. We have been eating it for years. I buy several loaves and freeze it. It freezes well and lasts in our bread drawer tons longer than any other bread. I don't see how you make it taste so good without oil. I will always buy it.
Just a note. I, like many others, have been buying Prairie Grain Bread for years because of it's down-home texture and flavor. I usually buy several loaves of this wonderful bread at once online. When I recently tried to access their website to order bread, I received a security certificate fault message and was unable to access the site. I also tried calling them, but no answer.
Best to worst overnight. Nothing was better than a cup of hot chocolate with several slices of your fresh stone ground wheat bread and butter. When I purchased the bread the packaging looked different but did not give it much more thought. When I went to toast it I could tell it was different. The taste was no good. Funny thing was three days later my father said that the bread he had been buying for years had changed. Nothing is sacrid any more. Please for the sake of my hot chocolate and toast fettish bring back the old recipe.
I buy Prairie Grain at Harmon’s Grocery store. I would like to buy direct from the company if I could Ive had your white, wheat, multi- grain and golden sunflower. I like all of them! This bread is super good with simple ingredients, no extra stuff, and the best for Vegans and Vegetarians. No eggs, no dairy, no oil—so right for lactose intolerant. Thank you for a great product.
