Precision Optics

I chose to visit Precision Optics for the first time this summer based on its proximity to where I live, but I'll be coming back here for all vision health needs from now on because of the amazing experience I had with Dr. Jill Smith and all the employees there. I was trying to get contacts - which has been quite a journey for me - and she was so understanding of my difficulties with the process. So patient. After getting the contacts on my eyes, she called me later in the day to see how I was doing. I had never felt so cared for by a healthcare professional. This happened over the summer and I'm writing this review a little late but I feel it's important to share what a positive experience I had! I definitely recommend everyone come here for their vision needs!

Amazing Doctor! She went in and gave me all details about my eyes and gave me the correct prescription needed. The staff is very friendly and not pushing about making a sale. They also accepted my Vsp insurance through my company.

Very happy with the exams I received I've seen both doctors. Very thorough and professional. I was much less happy with my experience ordering glasses. Days after placing my order, I got a call saying my insurance didn't cover what they thought it did, and I owed more money out of pocket. I was fine with this, but the person with whom I spoke Gina? was so incredibly rude and combative, I just cancelled my order and had glasses made elsewhere. So, half my experience was great and half was terrible. If you're looking for an exam, this is the place to go. But if you intend on ordering glasses, take your prescription elsewhere.

I chose Precision Optics because it was close to home, but I had a really great experience with a regular exam and contact ordering here. I was also able to donate my old glasses here easily.

I had my first exam with Dr. Smith & it was an 1ofakind experience. She was easy to converse with. I vibed with her. She answered my questions thoroughly. She was exceptional at explaining what she was doing with her fancy a** optic contraptions. For a first in my life, I know what the inside of my eyeball looks like. Trippy but insightful. I now have a personal relationship with my optic nerve & macula. If Dr. Smith is an in-network optometrist for ya, this is where you should use your vision insurance benefits & allowances. Expect brand name frames. Variety of lenses to choose from. Helpful receptionist. The lady that measured my face for my Oakley frames, quite the expert to offer options tailored to why I even first showed up in that office today. Honestly, best optic health experience I have ever had.

Hi! I recently had an eye appointment with Dr. Jill and it was an amazing experience. I don’t normally write reviews but I felt I had to! Not only was she very professional and easy to get along with but it also meant a lot to me that she sat with me for 30 mins to help me put my contacts in I was a first time user! This kind of care is rare to find in doctors and I really appreciate the time she took to help me when she could have easily left me alone to figure it out for myself. Definitely recommend this place!

I can't say enough great things about Dr. Jill Smith. I had sudden blurry vision in one eye terrifying and went to a retail-based opthamologist who dismissed the issue in favor of selling me expensive glasses. I wanted a second opinion and Dr. Jill Smith came highly recommended. I got an appointment in less than one week. She listened to me with great care about my symptoms and her expertise and state of the art equipment on hand showed me that I had "central serous retinopathy" - a condition brought on by stress that goes away on its own in 2-3 months yay!. She thoroughly explained the condition and my options with immense care and expertise. All in less than 15 minutes so I was in and out over my lunch break. Fantastic! I highly recommend her - she's the best. Her reception staff were also great - so kind and I even got a reminder phone call the day before my appointment:

I just had my first eye appointment with Dr. Jill, and I will definitely be going back in the future! I had really liked my previous optometrist, who I'd been seeing since I was a kid, but was sad to find out she had left the Kansas City area. Dr. Jill is the best possible replacement I could have hoped for - her office is conveniently close to where I work on the plaza, scheduling was quick and easy I called on a Tuesday and they fit me in the same week, and she made the appointment friendly, relaxed, and very informative. Her equipment and technology was also much more updated than what my previous optometrist used, which made for a fun experience. I was in and out in 30 minutes, including my new patient paperwork. I also love that visiting her is supporting a small business, rather than some big company or franchise.

Overall, I had a really great experience with the doctor and staffs at this location. It is fast & convenient since the location is so central. I would strongly recommend going here for your eye doctor appointment. One thing is that it is half the price to order my contact lenses online and in stores than at Precision Optics. It is convenient to not have to file with the vision insurance myself but if you want to save at least $100, definitely shop around. I got used to my vision insurance allowance covers all of that at my precision vision doctor that I should have checked for the price before ordering my contact lenses first.

Okay I love this optometrist. She explained everything to me which no eye doctor I've ever been to has done before. She is so nice and easy to talk to. Front desk staff is really helpful and nice too. Overall I'm just really happy with this place and I'll continue to go every year.
