This was my first visit to New Orleans. At first I was aiming for the park & ride, but you have to be there for 9am. I then checked the prices of other parking facilities surrounding this one & this was by far the cheapest. $6/12hrs, $8/18hrs, $10/24hrs. Pay in advance as you enter the lot. Reserved parking is on floors 1&2. Reason why it might be cheap: * It offers no security, but staff do visit to check tickets. * The building looks like it wasn't intended to be a parking lot, the ramps are tight & steep, I managed fine in a 4x4 but be very cautious. * it's dark & dirty with graffiti. There's one staircase, which during our visit was wet but smelled nice, like car shampoo. Also saw rats when we returned in the evening. * however, it's in a good location, there's a streetcar/tram that runs outside. It takes 15-20min to walk to The French Quarter. * Despite the negatives, plenty of people seem to use this facility.
Easy to find, super cheap. We had a little trouble using the kiosk, so I called the number and paid over the phone she was super nice and helpful. Only paid $30 for 4 days on Memorial Day Weekend...you can't beat that! Fri-Mon, 5p. The kiosk said 10 bucks a day, which is a great deal and not far from the quarter. But kiosk wouldn't let me pay for more than 1 day. You can reserve in advance online also, fyi. Garage ramps are steep and set up for 2-way traffic, but we did fine in an 2013 Toyota Avalon 4 door sedan. Garage wasn't pretty to look at windows broken, graffiti, but it was fairly clean inside and out; it also smelled nice. Many cars were using this garage, including locals saw many walk up in their uniform. Stairs only, no elevator. We dropped bags at hotel, then short drive to this garage. It is about a 15 min walk to Canal & Peters from garage, but the trolley 1.25 exact change picks up right by garage Carondelet & Julia...at the light. Or heck, you could take a taxi back and it would still be cheaper than paying $40 a day to park at your hotel. Many parking spots, no issues. This Parking Garage is definitely worth using! Would Recommend.
I wish I could give this place no stars. This is a very sketchy garage. If you park here. Make sure your carrying a gun. Yea it's cheap, you get what you pay for. I was paying 165 for reserved parking, a car next to mine was robbed. They threw rocks at the window and the rocks bounced off the windows striking my truck. Very bad dents. I understand that this can happen anywhere. But this garage, it's more likely you will get robbed here. VS. driving down the street and parking across the ACE hotel. If you have the extra few bucks to spend and want to avoid getting robbed. Drive a few blocks down carondelet, you can park at Go-parking or across from ace hotel. At night don't be surprised to see some homeless people sleeping at this garage. I told this to P-158, the girl on the phone. Wasn't rude. But she didn't care, horrible customer service. But like I said you get what you pay for. Try not to get robbed here!
It's not well lit at all, there are often used condoms in the stairwell, and it is difficult to get in and out because the ramps are so narrow. The only reason that I used this one regularly was because it was six dollars for 12 hours versus street parking that was two dollars an hour. I wish the city would stop charging it's workers to work
Very "shady" part of town. Did seem to be well monitored by security and I had no problem with my car. But there is graffiti throughout the lot, people loitering inside, very run down. I was OK, but I was alone on business. I would not bring my family into that lot personally.
The price was fantastic and the location was good, but the garage itself smelled weird like a port-o-potty, the lines for parking spots need to be repainted, and the columns throughout the garage make it difficult for nervous drivers to park it drive in the garage. All in all, I would use this garages myself, but won't recommend it to people.
Terrible place, dangerous, car was broken into, three cars around us were broken into, we paid for parking for the weekend and they booted the car. They have a tiny sign that's blocked by the columns that says the second floor is only for monthly parkers, that if you pay for parking you have to park on the third floor. Over 22 cars who had ALL paid to park were booted. This place is a scam and on top of all of that we were broken into. Window was broken and they stole a gun and laptop out of the car. I'll never park here again and nether should you!
Good price, but signs aren't clear. We paid and then got booted for parking on a wrong level. Signs were not terribly visible at night.
Broken Windows, smells like pee. Overall pretty sketchy. Only 6 bucks though.
Don't do it........my car got broken in to while it was parked there for a week.
