I accepted a job offer with PPS. Initially I was under the impression that I would be working in a leasing office environment doing move ins & outs as well as managing the maintenance staffs work orders. I was given the details of the property I would be working for (Oakdale Cooperative)- which is listed as being in Ferndale when in fact it was Royal Oak Township, inside of a non ventilated make shift "office." It was the worst 7 months of my life. The staff was rude, the tenants were rude & disorderly, the area was always patrolled by State Police, the board was very unprofessional & the property manager, Esther, was equally as rude. She never once showed her face or came down to check on her staff or the property. There were fights of physical nature between the maintenance employees & arguments on a daily basis. The theft & break in rates were very high as well. During my time there the work truck was stolen and involved in a high speed chase! The Site manager was equally as rude as everyone else leaving no room for accuracy to complete assigned tasks. Instead of making sure the staff was ok and their needs were met the Property manager, Esther, made sure to let the staff know that her customer (the co-op) was more important than anyone else (on the days she decided to show face.) Out of 7 months of working for the company the site manager went on a prolonged medical leave twice. I finally was tired of being mistreated by the company and accepted another job off back in to the normal Corporate world. In the same month I decided to leave the company they also lost 4 other staff members: The Regional Property Manager, The Site Manager, myself and a Site Manager in the Ohio office. In my position alone the turnover rate was VERY high! There was a total of 6 Office Managers employed there who had all quit as well! My advice if this company contacts you for employment is to RUN! It's not worth the headache nor hassle!
