Providence Performing Arts Center

This beautiful preservation of history is a great venue employing very friendly staff, and hosting wonderful events near Brown University. Walking down the street you are welcomed & drawn in by the marque sign; upon entering your breath will be taken away by the highly decorated vaulted ceilings with golden laid plaster, paintings, crown molding, huge mirrors, crystal chandeliers, spiral staircases, and marble bathrooms with adjacent spacious sitting rooms. The theater itself has good sound and ample bathrooms easily accessible from each floor. A new center chandelier reminds one that this piece of history was almost lost to us all, but with the hard work and determination of the community people can still travel from afar to enjoy it's spender and the performance it is showcasing. My only complaint is typical of a venue this age, that the leg space is never enough for tall people like me; a small price to pay, but miniscule in the grand scheme of things. If you find yourself in Providence I highly recommend doing yourself a favor and seeing a show at this beautiful theater!

As a chance to dance student (that preformed) my point of view was well, high ! I got to sit on the top of a balcony, as well my classmates, and we preformed 3 dances with other schools. Over all the staff were pretty cool with us doing whatever we wanted as long as we were safe. Note: Recording equipment isn't allowed. (As of now, May 2018) The place is huge. And beautiful. There are lots of ramps and stairs. (I believe the stairs are only for students though) Be prepared to walk ! As I said PPAC is huge, and a lot of people obviously want to see students preform, yeah ? It could get a little crowded when you head out. Just be aware of that. I'm not really sure about this one, but, the lights will make the place very dark so make sure you have all your things in one place so you don't lose anything.

Had an amazing experience at PPAC for Beautiful. Staff very helpful and courteous. Gorgeous and quaint theatre. The set, costumes and music were unbelievable! We had seats in balcony section and they were great! So easy to get to, parking a breeze and many restaurants within walking distance. Such a fantastic night!

Beautiful venue. Seats are cramped for tall and larger people. Third floor gets pretty hot. Parking sucks. Best bet is to park on street a few blocks away.

Beautiful theater, easy to get to, with lots of parking options, cheapest right behind the theater, lot on the left. Great acoustics, adult sized seats since it's an older theater. It's all redone, gorgeous ceilings, don't forget to look up
