Rhode Island Division of Taxation

This is a part of our government that is in need of an overhaul asap, tax payers wait months for there tax returns its no wonder Rhode Island has such a bad reputation year after year. Nothing changes in this state mabe our elected repersentatives need to start serving their constituents

Biggest bunch of jerk offs I've ever had to deal with in my life. They put a hold on me at the DMV so I couldn't register my truck or renew my license for not filing a return even though I was on Active Duty, overseas, and not even a resident of RI. A shining example of how poorly this state is run.

Receive a letter offering amnesty. Amnesty from what! No details. Make appt. and arrive promptly. Waiting 40 minutes watching the waiting room clear out. Receptionist says she’s sorry. Will call supervisor. After twice calling ‘supervisor’ I still wait. Why make an appt?

I waited on hold for 3 minutes and then spoke with Barbara regarding the status of a clients refund. She was very pleasant and knowledgeable. A very positive experience.

Officially filed in February, it's now July. What gets me is I'll have to pay my car excise tax (translation: Luxury Tax) sometime in mid August. Poetic Irony isn't it? A state so corrupt that it demands tax at 7%, demands me to pay mine on time, including the excise in August, but has taken this long to give me my small state return this year. I almost want to walk into Pawtucket town hall and say "Sorry, it will be late because your late with paying me my money owed FROM taxes".
