This has gone so far downhill since they first opened. They were once the best place for a catered lunch. The quality of the food was outstanding, the professionalism was first rate and incredibly organized. You could always count on PureBread to deliver....but unfortunately that has all changed. Not sure what happened but I'll be looking for a new go to place for my business catering.
Okay so here's the truth about Purebread Deli. It is everything you want in a deli and so much more. The atmosphere is incredibly comfortable even in the middle of their lunch rush. Now about the food; great tasting, the diverse selection and very filling. The coffee excellent not to mention unlike other coffee shops they allow you the flexibility of fixing your coffee the way you like it without any special codes and they also offer a variety of liquid sweeteners at no additional charge. Simply put this place is an awesome alternative to a very commercialized an overcrowded Starbucks.
Had lunch today and it really exceeded my expectations. I love that they have the "pick 2" 1/2 combo options - especially that you can get any sandwich/salad without restrictions. I got a 1/2 arugula and yellow beet salad with goat cheese and pecans.. add in the curry dressing and it was unique and delicious! Plus with the 1/2 turkey/cheese/pesto/roasted red pepper on focaccia and I was full and satisfied. It was on the pricier side with a drink $12.50 for all 3 but it was well worth it. Yum, yum.
So I've been to numerous other Pure Breads and have never experienced this type of service. I ordered the taking my order was very helpful and pleasant. However when it was time for me to get my food the guy held it until all the white patrons had there food. My number was 26 he was on 36 when I asked if my food was next. He said what's your number oh it's not ready. Then proceeded to pass my food that had been sitting there for 5 minutes. He never had any intention on giving me my food until he had served the white patrons. He was very rude and told me I wouldn't be getting any bread with my soup even though he comes with my order. He was very rude, maybe if I were a beautiful white woman this wouldn't have happened. Smh never going back!!!!
I love this place because customer service is excellent. Orders are completed in a timely manner, and the food is awesome. Team members always welcome each customer with a warm pleasant smile. Thank you, Purebread Deli team of Wilmington, DE
I love the decor and design. They played with the wording Purebred to give it a dog lover's theme. Nice selection of pastries. Counter worker was helpful. My disappointment was threat their Chai Latte is basically powder machine mix. It was no different than what you might get at your corner gas station
Food is ok. It's pricey, but doesn't have the quantity or quite enough quality to back it up. Soups are average, salads are ok, and sandwiches range from above average to very poor. Never order the corn beef special. You'll get one very sad slice of corn beef on a decent quality toasted sandwich bread. If you've ever been to a deli in New York, this will upset you greatly.
I ate at Purebread Bakery 4 times while I was in Wilmington visiting a friend in the hospital. The food was delicious, fresh , and made with quality ingredients. The service was extraordinary! EVERYONE was friendly, courteous, and kind. Thank you to all the employees for brightening my stay in Wilmington! Just wish Purebread was in North Carolina. I ate at the 500 Deleware St location.
I got my favorite sandwich yesterday, the Chihuahua, and it was different and I didn't like it. It used to be a warm chicken breast; yesterday it was cold and the chicken was cut up and kept falling out of the bread. Ten bucks for a crappy sandwich. Every change this place makes causes me to no longer want to go there.
$9.25 For breakfast sandwich wo a beverage is a bit steep. Staff was polite, but refused to give me a cup w a lid for my water...seriously, i got a take out sandwich & could have grabbed the cup & lid myself but since I'm a polite person I asked, the cashier wanted 50 cents for a cup w a lid...after $9.25 for a sandwich??? When I arrived @ work & opened my sandwich it was not correct :
