Great upscale Greek restaurant in LES. Stylish with great service. All the food was amazing. I had the grilled octopus and pistachio crusted striped bass. The bass especially was SO good served on an incredible bed of zucchini and pesto. They also have a great selection of Greek wines. I’ll be back.
An exceptional greek restaurant upscale but reasonable priced. Fresh ingredients and unique sweets. I have been in many greek restaurants and pylos should ranked at the top 3. Brunch is $18. We had lunch 3 appetizers 4 glasses of wine 2 Main dishes Entry 3 Brunch . 2 desert around 70 per person includes tip and tax.
I've been wanting to visit Pylos for 4 years and I finally got the opportunity last week. We got in at 10 pm on Friday and they still took us in. The food came out super fast, and the servers were very nice. The proteins were excellently cooked. My favorite was the grilled octopus.Dine in: Yes
From the time I walked in and was greeted by a nice hostess til the time I Left everything was great. Good lunch grill octopus was really good. My waiter had the best beer pour I’ve seen in a while. Espresso was also really good anèri cafe. Killer espresso foam on top good calibration on the espresso machine. I like the change in this place they switch the Greek standard of blue and white restaurants and did something different but pleasing to the eye. Has an upscale vibe in a good way. My waiter easy going attentive professional. Good spot that keeps evolving. I definitely will come back.
Did the prix fixe menu for restaurant week. It was great! The food was beautiful and executed so well e.g. the crispy things were crispy and not soggy. And the service was very informative and accommodating when we were navigating the wine menu. The serving sizes are substantial, so we really felt like we were getting our value’s worth.
In my opinion, Pylos is one of the best Greek restaurants in Manhattan. For appetizers, as expected, we ordered a Greek salad which was excellent. The eggplant with zucchini and the artichoke were special. The main courses were very good, particularly the salmon and lamb chops. The Greek desserts gave us a sweet finish to a wonderful meal. Higly Recomended.
I’m surprised it isn’t harder to get a reservation here. The food and service more than hit the mark and the ambiance, including the tasteful terracotta pot ceiling, did very well to set the mood for a date night. We started with the poikilia and pita, which was not only a great appetizer, but also served as a unique way to incorporate Grecian flavors into other parts of the meal as we used these dips with some of the other appetizers. The octopus was next, which in my opinion is maybe the most accessible form of octopus I’ve ever had. It was good, but I couldn’t help but think it tasted like a hot dog, which threw me off a bit. We also ordered the meatballs, which were cooked to perfection and scrumptious, especially when mixed with the poikilia dipping sauces. Finally, we finished with the pistachio crusted stripe bass. This dynamic dish absolutely blew our socks off. This is a must order.
Delicious as always. The Greek salad is well balanced. The calamari is fried to perfection and don’t get me started on the grilled fish. My absolute favorite. Dino was great also. Five stars. Now please bring alcohol so i can have a dry martini with my favorite drink.
Food is very fresh and delicious. Waiter Alexander was super helpful, generally, all the stuff was very nice. The patrons looked classy, place looked classy. Dorado fish was excellent.Food: 5/5
The pistachio pesto stripe bass was great! The fish was cooked perfectly and was very flavorful, the pistachio adds a crunch that was really enjoyable. This place is an East Village Gem. We have been here a number of times and have yet been disappointed. The ambiance is a chill romantic vibe, this is a great place for a date or a classy catch up with friends. Delicious food and great wine pairing. Hope this review helped, if so give it a
