Here at R Bar, we saw an opportunity a few years back to open a neighborhood spot dedicated to hockey. Situated in the heart of Columbus’ Arena District, we’re in an area built for entertainment and fun, and we wanted to create something special to celebrate our love for the game. People come from all over the world to join us for major tournaments, and you’ll always find a good time here when the Blue Jackets are on. With 30+ TVs on deck, you don’t ever have to worry about missing a moment of the action. When you add in drinks and some deliciously crafted pub fare to enjoy, you have a recipe for a great time whenever there’s action on the ice.

Cool downtown hockey themed bar with a penalty box! Hockey garb, sticks, and memorabilia adorn every inch of the restaurant. The 100 ounce beer tube sitting on top of a mini goalie mask was too cool. Best part was the mens bathroom had two urinals one had a penguins sticker the other a Bruins sticker to help your aim.
Hate to do this but burgers were overcooked, forgot the sauce for the wings, didn't sub out the salad but still charged us for it. Very disappointing considering the nice area, and outdoor seating. Even a few drinks in the food was a miss. Went Saturday night 6/18 I'll up from 1 star to a 3 star for the prompt reply from the owner on this / will perhaps try again. Drinks were fine, and the patio was nice.
This bar is great. Ignore the hater reviews, they've clearly never been to a sports bar next to that sports arena or they would understand why it's so packed and why maybe, just maybe, it takes a while to get drinks when there are over 100 people trying to get one with 6 employees or so serving. The pizza is slappin' and the staff is great, especially the employee who looks like Aquaman.
Always the spot before a jackets game!! Really wish I could have gotten a pizza after the game like I use to! But still a great time. The Beer tower is super cool.
Get in the thick of the getting psyched for a game and visit this one of a kind fun, friendly, inviting bar. R Bar is around the corner from the arena as well as across from the parking garage. The natives are friendly... come on out and hang and spend time on the outside patio too.
Great pre-aren food and libations stop
Had lunch here today. Great, attentive service. The burger was juicy and delicious. Awesome place to hang out before or after an event at the arena. Restrooms were clean. Fun Blue Jackets' memorabilia all over. Nice drink specials with reasonable prices.
Very Columbus Blue Jackets oriented with the number of Photos of the team and players through the years. Great place to mingle with friends and have a beverage before the game. Friendly and kind customer service.
Place is always off the hook! Met up w/about a dozen friends for the Vets Aide concert. They'd been there since 11:00, we rolled in around 3:30 & hung out for a few hours. Good times...
Its a good beer bar for before and after the Jackets games. I wouldn't order a cocktail there.
