I always come here for my haircuts. She does an excellent job giving you the result you're looking for and even offers a complimentary massage. The price for the cuts are also hard to beat for the quality that you're given. I would highly recommend this to anyone in the center city area who is looking for a good quality cut for a great price.
If you want a great men's haircut for a reasonable price, this is the place. Tanya does a careful, precise cut. Sure, it's not posh or hip, but she adds a neck and scalp massage for no extra charge. She also does some grooming. I couldn't be happier!
Hands down the best barber I’ve ever been to. Perfect haircut every time for cheap, but it’s beyond that. I once left my $200 sunglasses there and never thought to even check back there. 2 months later I go back, and don’t even ask about them, but the barber remembers ME and gives me back the sunglasses she was holding for two months. The next time I went, she gave me a bag of Chinese cookies and tea....!? What!? And she is actually the best haircut at the cheapest rate in center city.
Tanya is a very talented barber. I loved my haircut and it was also a really cheap deal. A big plus is a 3 min free massage that was better than a lot of massages I paid for in the past. If I ever need to get my haircut done in Philly again this would defenetly be my number one place to go.
Tanya is a skilled and dependable barber, and she throws in a short back massage with your haircut. The shop isn't much to look at, and the location is quite literally "behind a diner", but if you're looking for a cheap, dependable place to get your hair cut, this place fits the bill.
Visiting Philly from Dallas, I needed a haircut on the fly. I searched for barbers in the area and make no mistake, the 5 star reviews for this little shop are no fluke. Tanya is professional, her shop is neat, and she got everything I needed done with precision. Worth every penny; I might have to fly into Philadelphia for my haircuts from now on.
She gives great haircuts, and can usually squeeze you in last minute. And with a free 5 minute massage, its a great deal. To clear up any confusion, there used to be an old large Ranstead Barber Shop on the corner, but that has since closed. This is a one woman operation by the same name, and in the alley. Highly recommended.
Tanya does a great job with men’s cuts and she also gives a fantastic back rub as part of the service. The location is a little hard to find because it’s on a small street that’s been cut off from 19th by a new hotel. So you have to enter Ranstead from 18th. The place is a bit cluttered but that doesn’t take away from the excellent work. It’s also very reasonably priced for the area.
I spent 30 minutes there and didn’t even get a haircut! There were two guys ahead of me one already in the chair. The woman stylist gave him the advertised complimentary neck/head rub which lasted the allotted time. The next guy was getting an almost upper torso body rub which lasted about 15 minutes after she was done cutting his hair. Massaging his chest. Lower back. Kneading his back with her elbows. I just wanted a basic haircut on a Saturday afternoon. Bailed out of this place and went to another place in Center City.
This is really the only place I get my haircut. The woman does a great job, she is so friendly and they always seem to be able to fit me in. The price is right on the money for my simple style of haircut.
